The Godwars: War of Legend

After a few years in limbo, and a few more, War of Legend is back! Are you READY??

--

Are you tired of the same old Godwars muds? Maybe you like them, but wish there were more classes to choose from. Perhaps you enjoy a place where you get to completely destroy your enemies. Does this describe you? If so, welcome to War of Legend.

Here we offer a broad variety of classes, most of which are completely original and exclusive to this MUD. Those that aren't original have completely revamped skills and abilities. With 8 base classes, 24 subclasses, countless variations of each and hundreds of skills to choose from, you have the ability to customize your characters like nowhere else.

War of Legend does not play like a typical GodwarsMUD. Statistics play a significant role in your success. Items are generated with the randomness similar to that in Diablo II. No two pieces of equipment obtained from creatures are ever exactly the same. There is also a set of unique items to purchase that will advance you to the highest levels of strength.

War of Legend offers a special system of forging to enhance and upgrade your weapons and armor as you see fit. With this system you can advance your equipment through six tiers of growth, each building on the previous tier. With socketable jewels that add special bonuses to all of your equipment you can become a serious force among your adversaries.

Gold is the currency here. With it, you have the means to purchase uniques and forge your equipment. You can purchase tattoos, which add a vast array of stats and enhancements to make you stronger. Materia are available, which is an item that grows as you grow, each with a different and substantially powerful affect.

You will journey through a progression of one hundred levels. At the end of that journey you will have an opportunity to achieve mastery of your class. With mastery you gain an item and ability unique to your class that sets you apart from your peers as well as puts a definitive stamp on that class. With each passing level you grow in strength, receive access to more skills, and develop more of a combat prowess.

Combat in War of Legend is dynamic and diverse. Skills and abilities exist that support ranged combat, stealth combat, damage over time spells, arena combat and countless other features. The more you fight and win, the stronger you can become.

So whether you prefer to shoot your enemies from a safe distance with a bow as a Sentinel, sneak up on them from the shadows as a Ninja, rip them to pieces as a Demon, lay down the wrath of your god as a Zealot, call upon the forces of death as one of the Undead, unleash the fury of your fangs and claws as a Werewolf, or annihilate them with the jumping skills of a Dragoon, come see if you have what it takes to fight in the War of Legend.

An overview of some of our features:

• Integrated Website. chat, wholist , write notes, submit helpfiles, view helpfiles, view marketplace, view top 10 listings. • Account based system - keep a track of your characters. • Huge Overland-Map world system. • Automated Trivias - Giving rewards for correct answers. • 8 classes with 32 sub-classes. • Tracked leaderboard (top/leader) shows who's the best! • Help by submitting help files @ http://www.waroflegend.net/help.php • Facebook Page @ http://www.facebook.com/WOLMUD • 5% gold modifier per player, makes it a benefit for people to stay connected. • Vaults - store your eq and gold in an upgradable chest, which is available to all of your characters in your account. • Screen reader friendly • Base code implemented - Personal instanced worlds, where you can build your own headquarters. Ability to RAID headquarters and BLAST your way in! • Dungeons, with relics that are collectable via recipes.

This game has some really great features and despite everyone online being idle for the majority of the time you see their names, the immortals are actively updating it and making changes.. whether good or bad. The 'diablo style' loot is really exciting until you realize 90% of it isn't worth picking up. You will likely end up using maybe only 2 of the 10 or so skills you have, if you can decipher what they actually do since there are little to no helpfiles. Your time is mostly spent 'spamming' for gold by instantly teleporting to mobs and killing them with one attack. Once you make a few million gold however, you can spend it on restringing your gear so it doesn't look like the cookie cutter stuff you picked up. That was a big seller for me, finally being able to customize my character to some extent even if it was only aesthetic.

Oh right, there is also PK. That is, a player that has thousands of hours on the mud will PK you as soon as you log on. Then berate you if you have anything to say about it. Then tell you to go vote on TMC.

The PK really would be fine if they figured out a way to even the playing field.. but it's not. So prepare for frustration while you try to gear up to do the dungeon by yourself while everyone else idles until the Day of Slaughter so they can quickly teleport to you and kill you.

That reminds me.. a small portion of the in-game day is considered the Day of Knowledge. It's really the only thing this mud has going for it. The trivia, now that it was recently updated to be less than 20 year old questions, is actually very fun and rewarding.

This is a great game to spend a week or so on if you can tolerate the couple old heads that treat you like a new face in the bar they've been going to for the last 30 years.

War of legend is a fantastic mud that allows you to immerse yourself in building and developing your character, with total of eight individual classes to choose from, Ninja, Dragoon, Sentinel, and Undead just to name a few. Once you have decided on what class to play, you are allowed to choose a sub class out of the three choices available and begin your journey to leveling to 100 and getting your Mastery item that unlocks new abilities/passives for your class. Once you have achieved max level there is a PVE Dungeon that is scaled in difficulty, this area of the game offers recipes and unique relic weapons/armor that allow you to combine components to create more powerful armor & weapons. Combat in War of Legends is extremely unique, from ranged combat, spells that require a charging, it can be challenging for even the most experienced player. The forge system allows you full customize your items by changing the name/description of the item, adding stats to each item that allow more control over how you build your character while adding an element of role play. The staff are active, friendly, and extremely helpful, changes are implemented frequently, and they are consistently asking for player feedback onways to improve the game.

So fun right from the gate! We all know how hard it is to get into a new mud. To learn the basics and grind as an ignorant newbie... I fell in love with War of Legend because of how easy it was to get into and how quickly I adapted. The game is stunning. It starts off really fun, and its really easy to get excited about your character. Then once you level up, it turns into a whole different world. This mud is freaking awesome. No one can deny that. Get some excitement back in your life and log in. My character name is Ink, let me know you logged in from this review and Ill personally help you get started!

I have been playing WOL since late 05 - early 06. The PK aspect is easy to learn and tough to master. You have to put in many hours of golding, eq hunting, relic shopping, and questing just to get that perfect build. Thats ok though, everyone likes a game where you're constantly able to improve in someway.

The staff is friendly, and they fix bugs/problems on the fly as you're playing while coding in whatever the new project may be. (new class soon available?) Just come play. You won't be disappointed... unless you like roleplay. Cause that's just silly. :)

This is probably the easiest Godwars mud/pk mud you could ever play. If you take the time to get the gold to forge & buy/loot the weapons/armor you need you can compete with just about anyone that you fight. There aren't any penalties for death, and most of the players are willing to help (such as myself) so there is alot of newbie friendliness to this mud.

Also, the normal classes that you are used to on Dystopia-esque places are a bit different than what you are used to, so the variety in the races make for interesting builds for the different character classes. Overall, I would say this is one of the better pk muds I have tried, and believe me, I've tried quite a few.

Much better than when i first started playing. The class system is always being updated and worked on to make gameplay fun. Most people are friendly, clans even help each other. Eq is constantly getting better and even the ability to make eq better that you have is fun.

Yes, it a pk mud, but the ability to make money and get xp from mobs also makes it much more interesting than only being able to get money and xp from killing other players. Just my 2 cents :P

With one of the most impressive skill sets i've seen in a MUD, War of Legend has captured more than just my attention. With many classes and subclasses to choose from, and the infinite possibilities of random stat generated equipment, you will never have the same build on one character.

Whether you choose to become an Unholy Dragoon and build your character to become an Unholy fire breathing dragon master or to becoming a perfect strength Pally to wipe out your enemies with a Holyshock, War of Legend has something for everyone.

A very friendly staff adding new updates daily and supportive of newbies.

A new clan system that allows clan-to-clan warfare, clan halls and ganking up on unsuspecting clan enemies

Not only does War of Legend offer non-pvp fun, it also has an extensive tier system to separate the lowbies from the elite.

If you're looking for a good PVP mud or just a place to build a character and see the many different skills, War of Legend is your place. Come join us down in War of Legend, and become a legend yourself.

War of Legend is a vastly growing and popular mud. The 'diablo based' equipment system that loads randomly to mobiles with random stats, coupled with the 3 different tiers of each class system lets you become anything, and everything you could want to be - giving you COMPLETE control of YOUR build, and what you're capable of.

The mud is going through constant updates, and now newly added (as of Dec. 17, 2007) Factions (clan system), this mud literally just became 5x more fun. The newly added system allows you to be in a 'Faction', more commonly known as a clan - and you're completely isolated from the regular mud environment in almost an entire new world called the 'Wild', where anything, and everything is legal - however you may still pk outside the Wild in the regular mud environment within the Might Rate/Level ranges in place.

If you're looking for a new, well established place to play, and are awaiting a fun, likable staff/pbase, and you're tired of the same old boring hack and slash same class/race muds out there - and you're up to the challenge of making a name for yourself, then stop by and give: Godwars: War of Legends a shot - I promise you won't be disappointed.

GodWars: War of Legend- An Epic Saga as recorded by Amarth

In terms of definitive qualities, the beloved home of which I endearingly will henceforth abbreviate to 'WoL', is far too numerous in its independent entertainment values to be extracted from a modest review rather than pertinent first hand experience, however there are a few monumentally key factors that make it stand out and quite handily so from other Godwars-code based MUDs:

The Class System: This isn't just the most unique and originally well thought out class system in the universe of Godwars alternatives, it's absolutely the best and most importantly ideally-balanced class system one may ever have the pleasure of partaking in. As many know, a great majority of Godwars MUDs are inclined to sketchy stock-based classes that are constantly under maintenance and drastically effect the playability and enjoyment of the game. Here, one will be immediately surprised to find upon logging into WoL that there is no question as to what path to take for the build of his or her character in terms of bias or advantage; many times a new player will be seen inquiring the others for a recommendation of class selection, each time the answer is 'Whatsoever best suits your taste' granted that every option is as excellent a choice as it's predecessor. Separated into five categories, so to speak, each class has three subclasses to choose from concerning the build of a character, prompting the player with even further means of development and interaction. With over a dozen unique class options for your character and an inconceivable number of ways to go about playing them, it is entirely at the discretion of the player how he or she chooses to about making a name in the MUD.

Equipment: Like painfully few others, WoL is innovative with its very own system of items. Mobs spanning the entire MUD are individually loaded with unique weapons, armor and prizes that are refreshingly identical to no other item in the game at any given time, giving players a consistent means of acquiring further accesses to higher statistics and more powerful character builds. WoL takes equipment a step even further by providing players with shops who are similarly constant in their selection of unique items for purchase, an auction channel for player controlled sale of items, and a system of rare and powerful unique items and equipment called 'Relics' which must be obtained either by luck of draw or by trade with other players, all of which can be modified and tuned using game currency with the WoL system of item enhancement.

The People: Unlike virtually every other Player Kill enabled MUD where one can expect vulgarity, brutishness and rampart Neanderthal tactics of gameplay prominent and common in GodWars communities, the new player will be treated to a pleasant surprise of respect, charity, encouragement, goodwill and assistance, and above all else thoughtful and intelligent players, veterans, and consistently present staff immortals who consider and cherish fellow WoL players without pretensions or impatience. One can always count on the reliability of fellow WoL patrons to be cheerful and ready to answer any questions.

In Conclusion, War of Legend is a player friendly, masterfully composed anomaly among Godwars MUDs. I, proudly alongside countless others, take this MUD very seriously as closest to my heart and would be in sincere loss without it and the others who feel the same way.

Used to play on this mud until a year or so ago. Stopped because it became hazardous for my patients. Nurses eventually figured out why the new MO kept on asking for 5 more minutes.

WoL has diverse classes. With diverse builds possible. These builds depend completely on how you stat your character. Statistics generaly determine the outcome of most battles. What distinguishes people at the top, where practically everybody has perfect eq, is timing and pre-empting the opponents next move. That being said and done, the outcome of battles also depends heavily on your character and your opponents' characters. You could very well be the strongest, meanest, demon on the planet, but you'll get your ass and more handed to you by a shield-bashing dragoon with above decent blocking eq. Hence picking one's fights is essential.

With 'Diablo'ish Random Eq drops and Random bonus drops such as tokens that give random bonuses, WoL promises to make your gameplay very, very unique indeed. Hours can be spent at the vendors, browsing their wares which change every so often or you could grind waves and waves of mobs, looting their corpses for gold to improve your existing equipment and maybe just maybe that elusive 'perfect statted item with spikes and magic resist and uber AC'.

Whilst WoL is a fun place to be for the community and the incredibly friendly imms. I must give a word of caution to those inclined to bend /break the rules. WoL has a near zero tolerence policy to rule breakers. Being caught botting or using triggers is liable to get your char stat drained (which means your pk ability essentially sinks to an all new low) and gold stripped from your sorry corpse. Which is exactly what happened to the previous reviewer of this Mud '[20070525] Amarth stat-drained and record wrecked for botting. All gold removed.' Further infringements will most likely result in ip banning and deletion of your character.

Learn from an oldbie that got his fingers burnt and heart broken from a temporary IP ban. Dont break the rules; it isnt worth it seing a character you pumped 100 hours into get flushed down the drain. Keep to the straight and narrow and I promise you, you'll have a really, really great time. Oh, and just remember, if you lose your head, its just a normal day in WoL. Then again if you keep on losing your head, chances are you are doing something wrong. ASK and somebody will most likely point out where you're going wrong.

I've been on WoL for about a year now, and have seen it go through some turbulent times, and still remains, in my opinion, one of the most strategic, and fun muds around.

With the 6 different classes (Each of which have 3 subclasses), and the randomized equipment stat generation (Diablo II'ish), you will almost NEVER see the same build in character, which is what makes this mud so addicting. The fact you can build your own genuine character, instead of the boring old uniform characters like RoT/RoM and most Godwars has to offer.

The staff here has gone through some overhauling, but is back to its original state, now that Zakarowyn is back from basic training, and with the hiring of new coders, it is sure to keep ascending as one of the greater muds out there.

If you get a chance, and want to go away from the boring old hack n slash, and want a little more to your mudding life, stop by and see us: waroflegend.net 4200

Thank you, and happy mudding, -Mean

I’ve been playing War of Legend for quite a bit now. I joined when I was looking for a good Godwars PK Mud. I must say I have been thoroughly impressed with the overall gameplay. The Pbase is very friendly and helpful and the classes are very indepth.

There are the familiar Ninja and Demon classes, but it also has some unique classes such as Sentinels and Dragoons. Each class has additional subclasses that provide more specialization and challenges for each player. This means that there really is no end to the possibilities for creation.

The PK in the game takes a bit to get used to, learning each classes ability and how to use them in battle. Also, you'll reach the point where you'll need to get rare equipment. Don't let the name fool you, it isn't overly difficult to find the equipment and many older members are willing to help. Other than that, there is still plenty of room for customization with forging equipment, purchasing tattoos, and buying unique equipment.

Overall, if you are looking for a new MUD to try, or want to try a new challenge in PK, I would definitely suggest coming to War of Legends and checking us out.

War of legends is truelly a unique mud. I have been playing there about two weeks and have become truly addicted. The pbase is very friendly, and willing to help you out and guide you through your newbie time. The immortal staff is outstanding.

*6 unique classes with at least 2 subclasses for each one. *Forge system that you can forge almost anything onto the equipment, then refine it for even more affects including insetting jewels. *Token system, spin a token and see if you get lucky or get punished. *Auction system *Unique and rare equipment items *Tattoos, can get them almost anywhere that increase your Mightrate, or other stats.

I would definitely recomend checking this mud out. I did and haven't left yet. If you want something new, and new challenges swing on by. Need any help just look for Slair or Tvashtri. Hope to see you there!

I've been mudding for over a decade and this is one of the best muds I've ever come across. The mightrate system alows for alot more pking than a status based mud and provides for a more balanced pk experiance.

The class selection is broad and interesting. I've seen many muds that had a ton of classes, but no one played half of them because they stunk. The coders have done such a great job balancing the classes that there is literally no class that can't rock.

The eq system allows you to eq fairly quickly and be very competitive, but always leaves room for a little bit better eq which keeps things interesting. The imm staff is very professional with a few infrequent exceptions. In the year and a half I've played there I've never been treated unfairly, and more than fairly on a few occasions.

Hmm, War of legends. This mud is highly addictive and a very unique playing system. In this game, people are friendly if you're new, though some can be mean. Once you learn the basics of the mud, you're hooked.

The system for PKing is unique. The ideas for factors on fighting is good. Depending on stats, hitroll, damroll based on your class, you can be really strong or either really weak with the right equipment, tattoos, and etc. PK powers are also very fun. You gain PK points and loose PK points. There are also days in which you earn certain bonuses. Slaughter, being able to travel to another player through nosummon configuration, allows you to also gain an addition 100 PK points when you kill someone. War, Double damage when fighting, Greed, Double gold when from mobs, Knowledge, Double exp, and Sword, twice the speed on training weapons.

I have only been playing for 3 months, but I find myself not even going to school to play this game! Anyway come and try it out. There are alot more fun and exciting things on this mud that I haven't talked about so come and try it out and see what it's all about. If you have any questions just send me ( Squall, Nelastword, or Harima) a tell and I'll help you the best way I can.

As far as codebase this is a very addictive codebase, and some fun things to try out. The code does change a lot as the main coder is very dedicated. The mud actually boast a rather large pbase compared to most GW muds out there today, and for the most part, are extremely friendly for a GW.

The downside is mainly the imm staff. Most the immortals do have mortal characters who I wouldn't say are set, but in my opinion are a little bit harder then most the people. It could be from their knowledge of the code, or other shady practices. The only real complaint about the place is the immortals abuse of power. One of their rules states to not be a jerk to newbies. When I told another mortal who was being a jerk to not be, his Immortal alt froze me.They recently hired a new imm who was a former, and still is a player. Another could be totally coincidental is the code supports lifesteal on death, this is a permanent transfer of stats when you kill someone. It is random, but I had a 3:1 PK/Death ratio, and I had stolen 2 times out of 120 kills, but was stolen from 7 times in 40 deaths. Coincidentally 3 of those steals came from immortals alternate characters.

I would recommend this mud to new players, just learn who the immortals, and their chars are, and you can have a very fun time. As 95% of the pbase doesn't fall in this category.

WoL is definitely the best pk mud I have ever played. The world is original and easy to navigate with a great blend of ansi colors. So you don't have to strain your eyes to see what you want to, it just kind of pops out at you.

The pk is high on skill. You don't just beat on each other and pray to god luck is on your side. Strategies are key... be it a stat strategy or a skill strategy there are hundreds of ways to play each class.

Every day Radyth (imm coder) is adding in new things, or fixing things. It's safe to say the staff is on top of everything day or night. Come and give it a try just look for me on the who list and ask for help. I'm around often.

This is not an easy MUD to jump in and get an immediate feel for. You will have to think outside the box, for a change; This is a good thing. This is part of what makes War of Legend what it is.

The classes, and subclasses, are arranged to be different from one another. The way you learn, use, and improve your abilities is unique for each combination, and allow for a great deal of character customization. You may choose a class that has more straightforward attacks and skills, or one that requires the use of combo attacks, allowing you to find new abilities, by experimentation. This not a MUD where all the classes have the same basic skill sets, with different names; You get to play the game differently with different types of characters.

Equipment is fun and interesting to hunt for, with special affects, mods, and attributes set up in a way that most ANY creature has a chance of dropping a really nice item. Even powerful and sought after items are not exclusively carried by camped and predictable MOBs; The Diabloesque item system makes for interesting loot hunting, and some of the affects are just plain cool. Spiked armor causes damage to the attacker; Some items can steal life, or magic. Some carry bonuses to speed, casting rate, critical damage, or massive attribute bonuses. There's no telling what you might end up with, and finding a really good item is quite rewarding.

If you find an item you want to keep, you can improve it at the blacksmith; Various item value bonuses can be purchased, and you can even restring your items to have unique and personal names. You don't need to be a caster to improve your gear.

This is a MUD that requires a new outlook and style of MUD gaming, that is a fresh, and new experience for oldschoolers, and new MUD players alike. An array of bonus items can give you the chance to spin for special items in a casino, or you might find a treasure chest, filled with stat and attribute boosting items; Some might contain traps.

The new quest system allows for even more exploration, and rewards. The one slight issue, for one just wanting to keep to themselves in this world, is that the MUD is, of course, a PK MUD. The PK is equipment kind, howver, and you won't be looted to your shorts, just because you aren't a PK oriented player. There's not currently an option to opt out of PK play, however, once you get into it, it's actaully quite fun.

Many of the players are kind, and helpful; Some are out to kill you... Get your skills and gear set up, and kill 'em back.

This mud is as addictive as it gets. I've mudded for lots of years, but this game has everything I have missed in other games. Although a little to dependent on gear (which you find randomly or buy), overall I give it a 10 of 10 score. You should definitely try out this one.

I logged on and created a character. I'm occupied trying to find newbie related files which isn't easy as helpfiles on this mud are minimalist at best and downright uninformative in some cases. In the midst of my struggle to get a grasp of this MUD, another new player innocently asked what class would be best suited to new players. A commonly asked question on ANY MUD in my experience.

The responses ranged from noncommital at best, to this DIRECT QUOTE: 'why dontcha pick your own f(censored)ing class and learn to play it on your own like we all did.'

My stay on War of Legend ended right there. If the staff and players of the aforementioned game aren't interested in expanding their tiny playerbase (about 8 people including myself and the other new player) Then there's no point in bothering to play there. It's a pure-pk mud and there's only so much status to go around. Apparently, they are happy with the way things are so I couldn't reccomend this MUD to anyone newbie or old pro.

Im sorry your first impression of the mud was that way.

You undoubtedly found a real a(censored)hole, but to say there is a lack of helpfiles is boggling me. Typing help newbie gives you a great start on where the other helpfiles are located.

I had written the newbie helpfile myself and it was revamped by the immortals because I had added to many things *lol*.

A newbie channel was added just for newbies and newbie helpers. Thats right, there is a tag for newbie helpers on the who list.

You should give it a try again. It is a fun mud.

The people are great, if you need help there is usually someone on who can answer all your questions. Excellent gameplay and awesome battles.

The trivia is fun and usually easy, and the random free spins at the casino are the best. Don't worry about it being pure pk, at first you will probably be killed at least a few times but you get better with experience. Then give the older more experienced players a run for their money. This is definitely a game that I will be playing for a long time.

I'm going to be very simple with this review. I am your everyday overweight, simple, average guy. I've been big into mudding for the last 5 years now. A little over a year ago, my mud went down. So I've spent the last year searching the endless area known as the web for a new mud to play. I've probably popped in and out of AT LEAST 500 muds in that years time.

Well, About a week ago, i popped into War of legends, thinking I'd pop right back out. Well, guess again. I'M HOOKED!! Everyone is friendly! Staff is AWESOME! And the pking system is simple and easy to use! Please please please if you're looking for a mud to call home give WoL a try. I promise you won't be disappointed! I have a few chars on the game and if there is anything i can do for you when you pop in feel free to ask. Defari/Shedo/Nemi.

I just started mudding here at the end of last year. This is the first pure pk mud that I've tried...and I must say, I'm hooked. It was surprising to me how quick and easy it was to lvl, but I guess that is one of the characteristics of a pk mud. No mindnumbing xping for a week for one lvl. The players and Imm staff here are very friendly and willing to help new people out with information and some passable equipment.

Don't be discouraged with dying to more experienced players in the beginning, ask for hints. The most important factor of this mud is the quality of equipment you find and make for yourself. Second to that, is skill I'd say.

Overall, WofL is a great place to spend time. It's always exciting to get a great piece of equipment. Another thing that is always fun is Trivia, which you can answer questions and get tokens for spins at the casino. You can win anything from a great unique item, money, exp, lvls, and even death if your luck stinks. Come on over and try WofL out, you won't be disappointed.

This mud has a wide variety of equipment. It has a lot of classes. Each class has loads of skills and abilities. I like the way you can trade practice points for either experience or gold. You can buy unique equipment at certain shops. I like the token system. You find tokens on random mobs or get one as a gift, and you go and spin it and get some nice prizes, like materia or double exp.

I joined War of Legend about a week and a half ago when I was looking for a good Godwars PK Mud. I must say I have been thoroughly impressed. The Pbase is very friendly and helpful and the classes are very indepth.

There are the familiar Ninja and Demon classes, but it also has some unique classes such as Sentinals and Dragoons.

Other than that there is still plenty of room for customization with forging equipment, purchasing tattoos, and buying unique equipment.

Overall, if you are looking for a new MUD to try, or want to try a new challenge in PK, I would definately suggest coming to War of Legends and checking us out.

Well heres a PK mud that its playerbase is not doing it justice. Hopefully what I say here gets your interest and you at least decide to stop by. If you need a break from roleplaying and just want some decent battling then by all means here is your release.

There are a number of well rounded classes to choose from. The player base is friendly and helpful and the immortal staff keeps things interesting. Keep in mind this is a PK mud and your going to be attacked but it is all in fun and rivalry.

One of the things that stand out here is its unique artifact system. Want that Ring of Athena or the legendary Frostbrand its all here. So give it a try and come join the fun. This is one of the muds that I keep coming back to out of enjoyment and hope you will too.

Hey guys, If you're looking for a nice Pk MUD and don't want to worry about arrogant Immortals or ignorant players this is a good choice. War of Legends is very, very newbie friendly, with a very helpful staff.

This MUD is probably the most original MUD i've seen in quite a while, and as I don't have much experience is GodWars style MUDS (WoL was my first)I found my start nice, great features and implementations. All areas are completely scratch, and it has completely scratch classes, all with subclasses to go into even more detail.

The colours are nice and friendly to the eyes, and there are random Trivian games and Quests done all the time. I would reccommend this MUD over any other MUD i've ever played, mostly because it's so original, and appealing. Come play today, and you'll see what i'm talking about.

I've played alot of pk muds over the years. Few, if any, manage to create a realm where classes are balanced, maxing out isn't over in a few hours, and the range system promotes a fairly level playing field. War of legends succeeds at these tasks, as well as providing a far more strategic path to building your character. I encourage those of you who have been looking for a balanced, fun place to play, come check us out. I doubt you will be disappointed.

Where to start here? The classes on War of Legends are very unique. Like everyone has stated, every class has subclasses. Even Ninja, which really surprised me. I won't go so far as to saying every class is exactly even, because it isn't. I've yet to see a mud out there that's par with everything, but I will say it's close. It's very close. Triskal is always working on something to do with classes or coding. If there is a class with an abnormally good power that needs toned down, he gets right on it.

The equipment here is awesome. I've played about 10 GodWars muds in the 6 years of my mudding career and this is one of the best eq and class wise. It's uniquely coded and that's what caught my eye. Mobs randomly drop rare equipment, which stats randomly pop on them so nothing is ever the same. You can buy unique equipment or relic equipment at the local relic vendor Locke. Another spiffy thing added to this mud is the token system. Golden token's are randomly spawned into mobs around the mud. When you find a token you can either auction it off or spin it. If you do choose to spin, a Wheel of Chance is spun and you can win all sorts of stuff (including materia).

One thing that surprised me here was the stat system also. On most GodWars everyone has the same stats, but on here you can choose to forge your equipment with your gold to further your stats. You have 6 main stats which are strength, dexterity, wisdom, intelligence, constituition, and agility. You'll hardly ever find someone with the same stats, unless they're arcane. Damroll/Hitroll are a huge factor in this mud, considering you need damroll to further your damcap.

PK here is also quite fun. Most of everyone is fun about it and tries not to take it too seriously. I've had countless pk fights with a person and just kept pking, win or lose. It's fun to actually have people to kill who won't go nuts on you afterward.

The playerbase is the last thing, but probably the best thing I have to say about this mud. Of course, it's not a huge playerbase yet because it's so new, but it's one of the friendliest. When I first logged I had 5 people tell me if I needed help with anything let them know. Everyone is so quick to jump at helping someone out. The immortals are great, even talking to you privately about an issue you have. It's very rare you won't find an answer for your problem from an imm or just a player. Plus, with clans coming up soon it'll make the mud even better and I'll further my review then.

I hope this has helped. Ocur

I tried your mud based on your review. Seconds after logging in I was verbally attacked because I had a 'stupid name'. When I responded in kind, the imm silenced ME. Your playerbase is small and rude, and your imms are far from fair and unbiased. I wouldn't play there again if you gave it to me.

I'm addicted to this mud. Seriously. No where else will you ever find a mud where people laugh at each other after pk and become good buddies. Nowhere else have i seen imms that are so friendly and the players so ready to give assistance. Ask any question over chat and within seconds one has multiple people replying. This is probably the most newbie friendly pure pk mud i know out there and I would highly recommend anybody looking for a mud to come drop on by at War of Legends.

On to the game mechanics. The imms are extremely receptive to new ideas and suggestions and just recently class balancing has taken place. Making the playing field extremely level. There are many classes to chose from, with subclasses to specialise in. Each subclass gains abilities that hopefully turns you into a raging killing machine. The gameplay has immense replay value because no one class is similar to the other. These differences means that one will learn to adapt to the situation and namely your opponent at hand.

Equipment is based on that of Diablo's where equipment drops with random stats. Making no piece of equipment completely the same as another. Forging to increase your items potential is available along with the geming of jewels unique to War of Legends. Player Auctions are carried out 24/7, so whatever you just can't seem to find, can probably be found at the auctions.

PK is fun. The penalties for dying are practically nonexistent whilst the rewards for pkilling are potentially very great. Getting your butt whooped? No worries! Grab better equipment and go hunt down the fiend =P. PK timers are present to ensure that the same person cant kill you over and over again, unless of course you (the initial victim) decides to drop on him before the timer runs out. ;p

There's so much more to talk about that hasn't been said yet about War of Legends. So if you need a home away from home where the players are blood thirsty savages that are ludicrously friendly, drop by War of Legends. You won't regret it.

I will completely agree with all of Claudius' statements about this mud. I also feel that the pk is system is very balanced and any class can hang with the other, which is very rare to find these days. Another positive to this mud is that the imms handle all issues that occur very fairly. They are also very active in that at least one immy is on usually all of the time. It is very obvious that they do everything they can do make the mud more exciting.

This is a very different godwars mud than I have played in the past. I won't lie...It is very difficult in the beginning, sometimes frustrating, but most players are willing to lend a helping hand to some extent. In fact, I still feel like a newb and i have been there for over a month. But it is an excellent challenge and fun, regardless of how I am getting my butt kicked =) Just learn as you go and don't be afraid to ask other players for help.

The pbase is growing everyday and very few players are leaving because they are unhappy. I would highly recommend this balanced godwars to any player, especially for those who are looking for a new challenge. New items, areas, and ideas are being coded in at all times and it continuously gets better everyday. We all hope to see you soon.
