A great, small, role-play-required MUD!
Play a Knight, fighting against evil, tainted mages. Play a Reeve, trying to hold back
the shadowy Brotherhood. Move up in your guild and play a Magistrate or Baronet
or even Bishop!
Or, of course, play a shadowy mage on the run from the Inquisitorial Order, or a
thief with a secret life. Play a crafter (though the crafting system is pretty basic at
this point) or a bard or a priest or a cultist. Play a rebel or a noble.
The player-base is small, but the world is small, too, so RP is concentrated and
intense. There's not much in terms of quests, and no races or magic rings, but
plenty of secrets and betrayals and that sort of thing.
There's a bit of a learning curve, but if this sounds like your kind of MUD, come
create a character and give it three or four days--once you get drawn into the
world, the conspiracies and romances, the fanaticism and the rebellion, I bet
you'll stick around!
