The following review is the opinion of the review's author [Izrea] and in no way represents the opinions of this website or its staff.

The Burning Post II is at worst a MUD whose premise is
unoriginal and whose concept is hard to grasp by a player
with no Inquisition background. At worst, it is a MUD in
beta with code flaws and a predictable lack of maturity
among the players that of course any game with pvp
capability inspires.

However-

At best, the Burning Post II is a masterful final draft
of the rough copy that was created by its predecessors.
It is a game full of realism, logic, and very, very real
and believable characters. It is a masterpiece among poor
pre-imitations, if you will, and a place where the elitist,
both codewise and roleplay-wise, will flourish. Those of
us, myself included, who strike out to be the best, and
know the most, and be on top, are well rewarded, where the
casual mudder is left by the wayside, either killed for
the flaws in his character or his gameplay, or forgotten
for them. It is a MUD that encourages its players to either
become a part of it or perish, and those who assimilate
well deserve what they earn, both through character
progression and by the merit of their familiarity with the
game. With a small but dedicated staff lineup, a flexible
but unbreakable theme, and a playerbase full of meritable
writers who create not only the best characters but also
the best story, the game has the fortitude to weather any
obstacle and continue in excellence.
