The following review is the opinion of the review's author [Xunzar]

I have played several different muds over the years, none seem to
have the ooc family relations that Xaos does (i.e. Something is wrong,
its talked about, no dancing around the issues hoping not to offend
any immortal).
That being said the game play is rich, creative, and constantly
changing. Personally I tend to like the drow and the evolved culture
the player-base has changed it into in the last few years. Where as
ever book you have read on drow from the Forgotten Realms and such
have drow as a Matriarchal dominated society with males pressed under
thumb, that would not work for the enjoyment of most people playing
drow males. (Well maybe some, but to each their own.) Society in the
Underdark on Xaos has taken on a life of its own. The society as a
whole is still run by women, under the rule of a dark goddess, but
there is opportunity for men as well, should there rp be good enough
and their scheming up to par.
The game itself as is joked, is constantly in Beta. It seems it is
always changing. Granted not everything works, but luckily we have
immortals who know they aren't perfect, far from it at times, and
they listen to the playerbase, scrap the failures and keep or improve
the best of what is offered.
Enough about the imms; the players, RPers, PKers, and everything in
between. Personally I am one more for RP than PK, but luckily the PK
is USUALLY kept in check motivated by RP. Granted there are occasional
Yetis, Giants, or Undead, that get it in what's left of their mind to
just attack the next random person, but there is usually reason behind
mayhem.
I started playing this mud mainly because a friend asked me to, but
it didn't take long to become hooked. I promise almost anyone reading
this, give it a week and you'll be hooked too.
