The following review is the opinion of the review's author [Kimber Lane]
and in no way represents the opinions of this website or its staff.
This used to be a great mud. Right now it is on hard times. They
have changed the character creation system extensively. Then they
did a pwipe with no warning. Aldere, the head imp and coder, kept
saying they were working to balance the characters while he knew for
at least a week he was going to do a pwipe. I had wasted hours just
the few days prior building a character only to have all my time
erased. They still keep tweaking the character creation so who knows
if another pwipe is coming since they were dishonest about the first
one.
They say pkilling is allowed but if they don't like what you do they
will say you are 'roleless' and again take all your characters. No
discussion. No, 'please stop behaving in this way.' Just log in and
find all your characters gone because someone you killed complained.
The code is getting more broke all the time. Spells no longer work
correctly. Locate Object tells you the best EQ on the game is on a
lowly city guard but if you kill all of them it then reports items to
be worn by '$3lkr' or sometimes it even says I am carrying the
equipment I'm looking for.
I don't use charm but if you find a good mob to help you do not tell
the immortals because they will weaken it. While at the same time
they keep making mobs tougher under the guise of encouraging player
interaction.
We used to have the ability to get adventure points for experience
when you got to max level. So we actually had a reason to play
because we could continue developing our character. That has been
removed.
It is going downhill fast and has been for just a few months. Aldere
treats it like his personal playground, which is his right I suppose,
but he shouldn't expect people to spend time there making a character
to only take it away on a whim.
