The following review is the opinion of the review's author [Kaguya Abigeiru] and in no way represents the opinions of this website or its staff.

Naruto MUSH was my first experience with MUSHing. I have MUDded for
over 10 years prior to going to a mush, though I had RPed a lot
through table top D&D games. I joined this mush, already a fan of
the show. If anything, this place has made me love the manga and
anime even more.

I remember Chargen being pretty easy to figure out. The hardest part
was coding for my background, but it wasn't that difficult. The
initial dive into MUSH culture was perhaps the most interesting
thing. As an outsider, not understanding the role of NPC chars and
such, made my initial week challenging. I joined the game while most
of my village was away in Konohagakure for the Chuunin Exams (very
similar to the ones seen in the series, but different as well - it is
held about every 3 to 4 months). The NPC welcomed me with open arms
and I found the staff very patient with the Mudder that had joined
their population (I'd hate to know how many times they've wanted to
strangle me though).

I'm not one to create waves or rock a boat. However, I have had a
few head on collisions with staff regarding the skill set of an alt
(Sakitama). I find senior staff very willing to discuss in a civil
setting the reasons why certain skills are allowed or denied.
Sometimes, their views can be swayed and compromises can happen. In
general though, the staff at NM:R is fantastic and very devoted to
getting their staff jobs done and to try to keep the player base
pretty happy.

It usually does fall onto the players to create their own plots and
challenges for their individual chars, though global and local plots
done by staff do happen on a regular basis. Scenes usually last
anywhere from 2 to 6 hours with the exception of occasional plot
scenes taking longer.

Pros: Newbie Friendly, Very Customizable with jutsu creation and
clan creation, large world, only limited by the need for balance and
your own imagination

Cons: Gets Addicting and time consuming. Char development can take
a while depending on how much time you have available to dedicate to
the game. Some timezones and villages struggle with active available
RP.
