I'll cover this as simply and quickly as possible. We've had a lot
of reviews lately but I think we need a little resolution now.

Ged, I'm really disappointed in you. I remember you so well from
when I started on AM and you're part of the reason I've played as
long as I have. If you have moved on then you don't need to post
reviews now. If you have issue with people running the game then take
it to them. Don't turn people away from a game without letting them
view the game in their own light.

Mith, you're more willing to post than I would have thought for
someone who has left. You're married now, congratulations. You
managed it without the mud, as I knew you would. I was the Imm
involved when you and May first got together and your use of socials
in room is what I was asked to address. Players complained, you were
making them uncomfortable in public rooms. You were asked to clarify
the actions between you and May because people were trying to RP. You
refused. It was made clear that if you wanted to continue your OOC
actions you were free to do so via programs like AIM. You declined,
you wanted to do it on the mud because it was the cheapest option for
people so far apart IRL.

I give you both credit, by all accounts you've done well since. But
I think at the time you were a little blinded by your interest in one
another. Had you simply taken your urges for one another off the mud,
or at least to a room without other people trying to play around you,
it might have ended differently.

As already said, we are adult orientated, but not mature orientated.
There are games listed for mature play. We, however, have no way to
know the age of our players. You could be RPing with someone who is
50, 20 or 12. We had someone claiming on public channels to be 8 or
9... We have a swear filter and while we have borderline socials they
are rarely used and I should hope never seriously. There is violence;
it is a game with pkill and mob death for exp to level. Little to no
sexual content, which is fine by me. Fade to black is your friend,
moreso when your IC wife could be your OOC husband... Had they told
you, that is.

As for Malachite. Obsession is ugly. I've personally dealt with the
drama he has repeatedly created. I have posted note after note to
Staff to highlight things he has done to players. And to Staff. He
reverts time after time and the signs are quick and easy to spot these
days. We don't have to tolerate it, we don't have to be lied to and
see the result of those lies on our pbase. The Staff doesn't have to
be abused, accused and made to feel bad for doing their jobs.

People have to move on, learn to accept the things they can't
change. Posting bad reviews to a game they come back to again and
again? Bitterness. You don't have to like the game, but no one
twisted your arm either.

There is more than one side to every story. This is ours. People
reading this have a right to decide for themselves about it.

Just to clear up a few things. Mayk and I were never asked to take
things from a public room. The only time we were together in a room
other than the few times we rp'd icly, we were questing. At first we
used the dominatrix, but that got quite busy so we moved to Quesno
(unsure of spelling since has been a while). The only people that were
there were friends ooc. We all joked around with socials since
questing is an ooc occurence.

The few times that any rp was done there anyone questing including us
were quiet. We chatted both on the mud, and on Aim. Since we were from
two different countries we could use web camera as we talked to feel
like we were in the same room. Even that was G rated since in my own
culture, I lived at home with my family until I was married. My
mother, brother, nieces and nephews would often come into my room to
say hello to Mayk, and see her on the web cam. We also talked by phone
9 hours or so a day. So how likely would we have said that it was
cheaper to talk on the mud?

Neither Mayk or I had ever had that request, nor did any of those who
were in the room with us say they were uncomfortable. We used socials
like bounce, wiggle, bat, flutter. We didn't even use some of the
more suggestive ones. Smooch or nuzzle were probably the most risque
socials we used. Heck, everyone in there would bounce, ruffle, drool
or use other socials with everyone in the room.

There was a regular group of about 5 of us that used that particular
location. When we first moved there it was just the two of us. A few
of our ooc friends followed and stuck there. The only person who
actively complained to me was not over the use of our socials, but was
my IC wife at the time. Because once Maky and I became more than
friends I felt uncomfortable rp'ing with her as a husband. I offered
her a chance to end the marriage, at the time she did not want to.
Sure a few of our room regulars teased us, but friends do that to each
other.

Not sure how any of the socials we used would have been a problem no
matter who was in the room, but I can certainly say that it never was
with those that were there with us. So perhaps your memory of the
situation has faded like you suggested with us.

The only person to use our ooc socials and such out of context was
Tieran. She came invis in the room watched a few socials. Ie, nuzzle,
bounce and most likely, mayk batted her lashes at me. Then took it
into IC on Farspeak, accusing me of cheating on my IC wife with Mayk.
Sorry, but I fail to see how that was appropriate, or since we used
only ooc socials, and if we used emotes that were not rp but ooc we
put (OOC) prior to them. As we both had also made (OOC) tells as well.

I am not sure what more we could have done, and in no way were we
more than pg 13 in the questing room. Actually by today's standard we
were likely G rated. Mayk and I were often on the phone while we were
on the mud. So anything we wanted to say that way would certainly have
been said over the phone not on the mud. Since a phone card here in
Australia for the US is cheap we had no issue with using the phone. It
is only 2cents a minute to call the US with a phone card, less Mayk
told me than long distance calls in the US in the same state. For 30
dollars I got a bonus of time that gave me over 2000 minutes. We used
about 50 dollars a week in phone cards. Cheap really since you can
spend more than that on a date one evening a week.

You are correct, we have done well with our lives off the mud. We
would not have posted at all had we not from a reliable source, found
out that it was being circulated around that we deleted for a second
time. To be honest that bothered us, since when we were reinstated we
tried hard to do what was right. Mayk deliberately tried to avoid
confrontation with Tieran, even though Ratz's Tieran's friend was
hounding Mayk with Tells calling her a cheat and saying that she
should not have been allowed to return. The information he had could
only have come from Tieran, since we had not even discussed all that
had occurred with people on the mud at that time. We attempted to come
back slowly to allow people to adjust, because we had met there it was
even more special to us. Unfortunately it was not to be, and once
again OOC issues were the cause, not in game ones. Raxx chose to
delete us then because of his own OOC reasons. His decision, not ours,
and I would have thought he would have been willing to say he had done
so.

At least you're being mature about this, which is more than can be
said for some people. I simply find this need that people have to post
these types of reviews to a game after this length of time to be
meaningless. What happened, happened. I dealt with it personally and I
have the logs and notes from that time to prove it. Tieran is no
longer involved in the mud and hasn't been for some time. Nor is
Rahtaz, who may have been gone even longer than Tieran.

Going over the same thing over and over again gains us nothing. I
gain nothing from airing what was said and posted and I refuse for
that reason. It can't change what happened then.

These reviews are a way for people to find out about the mud, yes.
But when it becomes a personal issue and a form for talking out
against individuals, then I have a serious issue with it. If people
want to talk things out personally, then so be it, emails and instant
messengers were created for a reason. If they can't find a middle
ground then they have to accept that and let it go.

After a year, two years, three years... However long, people need to
re-evaluate what is important to them. Something like this is not
important enough to hang on to. No one is benefiting from this, no one
gains anything from sitting and writing out these things. Is your life
being enriched by this? Is mine? The lives of people reading this? No.

Since then this has not been an issue for me, and I can say I've
dealt with more pressing things since. My life is such right now that
I am dealing with issues that do take priority, but I'm making the
time to try and put an end to this anyway. I cannot force anyone to
stop, I cannot twist a person's arm, but I can state my case clearly
and leave it at that.

This is not people reviewing a game, this is people reviewing the
morals and actions of individuals. We could all do that, but do we
need to?
