The following review is the opinion of the review's author [Caytiera] and in no way represents the opinions of this website or its staff.

I wish to address the negative comments that somehow managed to
appear within a very short time span.

First I'd like to address Ged's remarks, while not completely
negative I do find a few unsettling. I played on Aabsolom, then on
Ancient Mists (two separate muds). Some folks stayed on Aab's, others
drifted to AM. My memory of you, Ged isn't very clear (it's been
years). I do remember you being a God of Light and a great RP'er. I
also don't know what happened between you and the staff, nor the
reason for your leaving.

What I don't understand though is the comment about people playing
the same role they did four years ago. I *thought* consistent RP was
encouraged in most places and that constant flipping of RP was frowned
on. I almost feel like that comment was directed towards me, because I
have been playing my character the same way for eight years. As for
the RPnote's being self-involved, again my understanding of RPnotes
is that it is a way to express your characters thoughts, help define
them, give others an insight into them, as well as allow others in on
what goes on when they might not be around.

I don't believe the mud is impenetrable to new players. In fact this
past year we have gotten quite a few new players who have gotten
involved in realm wide RP, as well as one on one RP. However, if this
is how some 'new players' feel then it is definitely something that
can be addressed, because it also means that we Newbie Helpers might
not be doing our jobs as best as we can.

Second, I'd like to address Ralik. We have no character by that
name, and nothing irks me more than someone creating an alt name to
post a comment on, especially when that person STILL plays on the mud.
Your writing style gives you away.

While your comment contains some positives, it also contains some
negatives. And once again I am forced to believe you have jumped on
the bandwagon and were convinced by your friend to post the remarks.
They are his words, written in your style.

It is not hard to obtain an RPflag, some folks get them within their
first week. You simply require a valid RP; i.e. not summoning a force
of undefeatable dragons to destroy a city, when it clearly isn't in
your characters 'powers', let's not forget it's not even in the
game. The reason an RP flag is required for PK is because we are not a
hack and slash mud. Again, valid RP is required to PK. The reason of,
'Well I don't like so and so OOC so I'm going to kill them.'
isn't valid. If it were, there would be alot of deaths....

As for newbies saying things that 'aren't agreed with' and being
'insulted' for this. I've yet to see that. I will say that if
someone comes in and is clearly a troll (which appears to happen quite
a bit lately), it isn't taken kindly to. I can guarantee you do not
see what is said on the Newbie Channel, and sometimes it's just not
very polite or friendly (from the new player). No one is there to take
insults or b.s. from anyone, other players included.

And now, the third thing I would like to address. Our dear friend
Malachite.

I won't waste too much time on this. I think Selquest's response to
him just about covered everything.

He is right when he says Malachite has GREAT RP potential. He has a
unique style, I don't think anyone would argue with that. HOWEVER. RP
and OOC are TWO separate things. You are not a vampire or werewolf in
real life, I am sorry...it's just not possible.

I know you think Mith and Mya were the 'greatest' players
ever...but seriously, give me a break. Mith didn't RP, he was there
for Hack N Slash, Mya you enjoyed because she was just as sex driven
as you were. That hardly consitues great players. And, contrary to
your belief, they were not nuked/banned. They simply typed DELETE
twice because they were asked to keep their sexuality to a minimum or
in a private room so others were not subject to it (this was due to
player complaints).

This brings me to my next point. Yes the mud says, 'Adult
Oriented', however it does not say 'SEXUALLY' oriented. Every
female in that game has made a complaint (aside from one or two
mudsluts-who are long gone btw). If attempted rape online were a
crime, you'd be in jail for a long time. Everything with you was
sexual in content, everything you tried to RP with a female had a
sexual conotation. This game isn't a free cyber-fest, thats not the
intent. And you made ALOT of women uncomfortable. Surprisingly that
wasn't even the main reason you were nuked. Ancient Mists is not your
personal breeding ground, nor anyone else's.

You've been given multiple chances, even now your werewolf alt
remains, unnuked for yet another chance. Again, like I said about
Ralik, your writing style gives you away and your alts are easily
recognized.

I find it sickening that you clearly enjoy this. The fact that
you've been ISP banned three times and have gotten new ISP's each
time simply to come and torment people is disgusting. Only about three
people have ever been nuked in that game, over almost 5 years of it
being around. You being one of them. What does that tell you? What
does that tell anyone reading your reviews?

Find a new mud, find new people to torment. If you hate the game so
much, stop coming back. It is really -that- simple.

-I know my reviews are considered biased because I have been playing
for so long, but I refuse to let someone like Malachite attempt to ruin
something that I, as well as others enjoy.

I also know that there are claims of favortism by him, constantly as
well as 'buffed up church spells.' Both humor me, but none more than
the Church spells. I am in a Church, which means I have church spells,
which means I am clearly a cheater character. Unfortunatly what our
dear Malachite didn't know is that my church spells are mirrors of
existing spells simply renamed. They have no added benefits. But
because it is something he does not have and something he does not
understand, it's cheating.

If he cannot beat someone or get something in a quick manner, it
means there is favoritism, forget game mechanices or realty. Clearly
there is some other explanation besides his own utter failure. Of
course these claims are only directed at myself and one other player,
two he can't beat. I can't help but wonder when he'll claim that a
Dragon's breath is cheating, or a Vampires PI is cheating....

(The following review comment is the opinion of the comment's author [maykacha] and in no way represents the opinions of this website or its staff).

Cayt you are simply clueless if you believe half of what you spout is
true. Sex driven? My rp had little to do with sex. I did on occasion
kid around with Malachite, and of course Mith, who is my now rl
husband. Though we never got complaints since we used socials and all
of our emotes had (ooc) in front of them. We did delete our characters
once, that was done because an Imm, Tieran to be exact, decided to
attack Mith icly in global farspeak on cheating on his IC wife. This
added to the fact that Tieran had for quite a while accused me of
cheating and given me a difficult time for over a month forced us to
delete. Funny though Maykacha and Mith never rp'd more than as
friends in the game. Our relationship was strictly kept ooc. As many
can attest too.

I do find it amusing though that you of all people would call my rp
sex driven, but it is you who uses sex in the name of the church of
darkness to get people beholden to you. Heck you even pop on and off
the mud stating you are naked on chat. That really seems to have a
point to the game.

You also visited the mud owner and hijacked his character to type
chat in. This was to make sure everyone knew you could do this. I find
this disturbing and yes a show of favoritism. I mean how many people
have the ability to use the owners name for chat??

On Malachite, yes sometimes he can be over the top. He also has a
temper and does not always think well before responding directly.
Though his review was well thought out and made a lot of sense. Which
is why those that responded so negatively felt the need to discredit
him and attack him personally.

Mith and I use to love AM and still have a soft spot for it as it is
where we met and fell in love in the beginning. Unfortunately, all the
enjoyment of the mud fell by the wayside with its pettiness and biased
attitudes which just got worse over the last year of our play.

We deleted the once, waited for several weeks to talk to Raxx, the
mud owner. During the time we tested a Mud that Raxx did not approve
of. He reinstated our characters then found out that we had tested on
the mud. He asked to talk with us off the mud and stated that since
our play was limited he was deleting us to free up space for more
active players. He did delete us, not as you said were we asked to
delete, but rather because of his ooc reasons he deleted our
characters. Interesting though, that neither of our characters that we
put on to occasionally stop by to chat have been deleted and we rarely
use them but once every 3 to 6 months to come on and say hello.

We enjoyed many players on the mud, and still as I said have a bit of
a soft spot for it due to our meeting there. Hopefully any who read
the reviews can see the trees through the forest, and notice that
those posting these very similar reviews are most likely spoon fed
them by the powers that be.

I think Cayt's review speaks for itself. I recently went on to read
rpnotes and say hello to a few that I miss from playing days and was
attacked by cayt for even showing up. She made it sound like I
personally attacked her in my review, which named no names at all,
just spoke on church spells.

Yes, hers were amped, so too it seemed was her then IC husband's, an
angel. Since many levels below Mith, his banshee scream did 2k worth
of damage. Something Mith had never even reached, being final mort lvl
200 and over 3k in hours played. So while perhaps the spells are
renames of regular spells they are additional, and add over top of
what is already there. Though I have trouble believing that they are
just renamed skills, since I have been on the receiving end of those
spells and have seen their effects. This is from personal experience,
as was Mith's account of trying to disprove the assistance gained.
Mith had hoped he was wrong about the assistance, since he didn't
want to believe that it would come down to that. Unfortunately a nice
mud has become a place where if you do not comply or conform to the
Immortal staffs idea of play you are not truly welcomed there. OOC is
taken heavily into account there, and IC is relegated to what they
wish to see.
