I've played ancient mist for some time now, about 5 years, and its
an easy going rp community with a side of pk. It is a very newbie
friendly mud whether you are completely new to mudding, or just
finding a new place to call home.
There is a group of selected/dedicated and knowledgeable
players/immortals that run NH, or newbie helpers. There are multiple
classes per tier(2 finished tiers with a total of 17 classes), as
other reviews pointed out, so its hard to ever be truly done as you
can remort till your heart fails.
The Rp is constant and despite others claiming only a favorable few
run it, anyone is welcome to partake in it.
The only bad thing i can personally think of is for a newbie is that
the older players can be a bit intimidating as we are well into being
as done as you can be, with hundreds to thousands of hours from years
of playing. Which isn’t such a bad thing as you can use this as a
driving point to strive to best the oldies. This is why the newbie
helper system is there, to help players adjust and find their niche.
Unless you find players on a truly bad day they are all very friendly
and welcoming. In my time here I’ve left but always been drawn back to
the fun regardless of why I left. Its addictive once you get going I
suppose you could say.
So come give it a try. Can’t hurt and you never know you might find
something you have been looking for in a mud.
