I remember when I first came on Ancient Mist. I was about ready to
throw in the towel. Mudding just didn't seem to be for me. Soon
though I was assisted by others and was enjoying myself completely.
Unfortunately this began to change over the years. Until the mud had
become all but unbearable place to be. The Immortal staff had their
favorites and they were clearly defined. If your RP was such that
they did not agree with it they made life difficult.
Players in churches getting god like spells to stop others cold in
pk or in rp. Immortals involving themselves in RP to the point of
being the ones to relegate the workings of it. One Immortal decided
to take OOC chat to IC, and globally. This escalated to the point
where myself and my now husband both deleted high level characters.
We were reinstated after speaking with the owner of the mud. We tried
to go back but were continually harrassed by the immortal and their
playing friends. We thought we should quietly take some time away
from the mud to let it die down. Since we had enjoyed the mud for
some time and we met there, it was special to us. We also had made
some good friends there. Unfortunately while we tried to do what we
thought was best and return slowly to the Mud, the owner decided to
delete us due to our not playing frequently enough, and to free up
mud space. Interestingly enough, some who had not logged on in 6 or
more months still had accounts there. We, however, were deleted not for
those reasons, but because we were testing a mud out for someone he
disliked. They would need to become impartial, doesn't seem that is
going to happen any time soon. Which is too bad for it could be a
lovely place to play, and perhaps for some can be if you toe the
line. Stay within the boundries set out by the Immortal staff and
choose not to create waves in RP with their Golden few.
