The following review is the opinion of the review's author [Grifter]

I've been playing Realms of the Dragon for about 12 years. In that
time, it's undergone many, many changes, while maintaining an
essential core of fun and mystery that makes the text-based
roleplaying experience unrivaled by newer, fancier gaming
technologies. The world is huge, and the character options are
plentiful and balanced. I've played characters all over the good/evil
spectrum, and have found immense enjoyment at each stop.
The official description here does a pretty good job of giving you
the feel of the place. It's a detailed, often action-packed world the
coders have created, with myriad quests and developed themes to make
the experience more than simply stock-fantasy pastiche. Furthermore,
it's remarkably well-written and conceptualized, another bonus for
those who take the time to carefully read all the text they're given.
In the past, the only thing that has slightly hampered the experience
has been, I think, a pretty steep learning curve. However, the
administration has made this issue a primary focus in recent years,
and I think the game has become just as accessible as it is deep and
rewarding.
On the whole, I simply cannot recommend it enough.
