Winter Moon is a stable and reliable mud, and it also happens to be
the first and BEST mud I’ve ever played. It got me hooked, and even
though I have tried several others since then, none of them would
ever stand the comparison. Why?
First of all – the people!
Yeah, you got it – this is a truly newbie friendly environment!
Although the newbie sections are clearly indicated and self-
explanatory, no one would ever refuse to give a hand or even a basic
explanation. The Immortals themselves are very open to hear
constructive remarks, and will seriously take the players’ advice
into consideration. Once every couple of months a mud meeting is held
in which people suggest changes and these are put to votes. And yes,
they actually are implemented within a few weeks, believe it or not!
And there’s even a whole guild that has been established with the
purpose of helping the new people out. These are called Saints and
are the official helpers of the mud.
The environment!
There are about 1,000 locations to explore, each with its secrets and
inhabitants… and many of these are unique, as building is encouraged
by the Immortals. Are you feeling in the mood to explore Avalon or
visit a Demonic Nunnery? We’ve got them all, and in case we do not,
you may be given a chance to contribute one! Thus, you’ll never be
bored or stuck leveling over and over again in the same old and known
locations. Plus, ANSI colors make it all even more enjoyable, whilst
still remaining limited so to avoid confusion.
The gameplay!
There are about 10,000 Levels to go through, though remorting first
to get all your class’ skills, and then tiering to unlock new races
and skills. While you do this you also achieve major gains and
abilities, and are able to wear equipment earlier each time you tier.
Not enough? Then you will love the item creation skills for every
class family. Free your fantasy as you brew or forge the ultimate
piece of equipment!
What else... there’s guild-only PK, quests, and a campaign system.
It’s really impossible to describe all - there’s enough to keep
one occupied for several years, and above all – it is great fun
because of a great community!
