Prophecies of the Pattern is a very well-coded Rom MUD that is about
as close to the actual feel of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time as you
can have in a MUD. It offers something for all types of players. RP
can be as heavy or as light as you want it. There are a wide variety
of races. Being a train-based system, your character is completely
customizable, with one of the largest offerings of skills/weaves
(spells) I have ever seen. You can choose from 18 different guilds,
each offering its own unique RP experience. With a virtually limitless
remort system and over 24,000 truly unique rooms (no re-described
Midgaard here), this is a mud that never grows old.
Whether you are a mud-veteran or a newbie, PotP is very welcoming.
The helps are extensive; several experienced players have been
designated mentors specifically to ensure that new players have
someone to turn to for questions. Plus, the website and forums are
incredibly informative.
Other fun stuff includes trivia, fairies, raffles, tournaments,
invasions, and an automated quest system with tremendous rewards.
