First of all, thanks for the good initial review.
Secondly, about the other points raised. It looks like two issues
have come up. First, about the lack of communication. All I can say
is, this has been noted and discussed with the newbie helpers
-mentors. Indeed, there has been a reshuffle lof their ranks based
on the present feedback. Peoples' opinions matter.
Secondly about the decision with illegal names. Yes, we DO try to
enforce original IC names. Yes, we at times kinda go overboard.
HOWEVER, this is done without asking people to delete/lose exp/
otherwise have any effect on the character. While I wasn't the
immortal who addressed this case, I strongly feel that going
overboard is better than having a bunch of LoTR or worse still
Animie/Star Wars names. Now the problem is, yes, at times the
odd non original name DOES get through (and original is also
kinda subjective a term). This is for three reasons- 1. There
was no imm online when the person created so the name got through.
2. The character was created YEARS ago, before we got the rules
tightened up and we are now stuck with it, 3. The imm online
missed some reference to some piece of fiction/online game/
whatever and therefore let the name through. Thats what happened
to Hanzo. By the time I figured it out, he was too high level and
active to change his name. Anyway, even then, we could perhaps be
tactful in handling renames.
