The following review is the opinion of the review's author [Celran]
and in no way represents the opinions of this website or its staff.
I'll start with the cons.
It's not bad as Star Wars places go, but the usual caveats (i.e. those
pertaining to Star Wars/Trek MUSHes) apply. People seem pretty
adolescent, and in fact the atmosphere often very much resembles a
bunch of high school kids cutting each other down amidst nervous
snickers. There's not a lot of brilliant roleplay going on, and it
has a very 'video gamey' edge. Do not expect great things, or much
polish - this is decidedly a lower-tier MUSH, bordering on mid-range.
And then the pros:
Notwithstanding all the above, it can be fun, and isn't a bad option
if you're really fixing for some Star Wars roleplay. For example, it
has an obvious advantage over the 'strictly PG' Star Wars MUSH - there
are not a lot of content limits, so you can RP realistically and
grittily if needed. As I said, people can be abrasive, but there's a
certain ... peculiar camaraderie about the place, too. Technical pose
quality (grammar, spelling, vivid description) is not bad, though;
it's solidly in the mid-range.
I especially liked its original theme idea - everyone trapped on one
planet (Tatooine). It helped avoid the planet-sprawl that otherwise
befalls many a Star Wars place. (Having to come up with a reason to
move your character halfway across the galaxy for the OOC purpose of
finding roleplay.) The current theme is also interesting, with a split
Empire.
The admin are reasonably helpful and friendly. They -are- very
available, too; there's just about always a Judge free to run a scene.
And the scenes they run are usually pretty colorful.
