The Shadow Wars is a very interesting and well coded mud. The Dream
world is very well developed, and the Talent system has been very well
formed.
There is Multiplay available, which allows each player at least two
characters online at the same time. This, however, leads to a
deceptive number of actively online and roleplaying characters. While
the online character list may show 10-12 players online, the real
number is much closer to 5-6. Also, the need for hours in order to
gain a higher experience gain per round leads to the problem of many
characters who idle online consistently, even as they sleep.
The experience system is also built to allow you to gain double
experience for a period of one hour, twice a day, if you vote for the
mud on Top Mud Sites. This is very good for those players who are at
higher levels after experience has significantly dropped per round.
Guilds are entirely immortal run, and the mud supports on average two
semi-active guilds. All in all, roleplay is created entirely by
players, and the newbie helpers are very friendly to all who are new
to the mud. A good place to start out learning the basics of mudding
before moving on to a more populated and active mud base.
