DBI.... What else do I really need to say? I started DBI back in
September 2004 using, at the time, the infamous DBS codebase. It had
been leaked and we got permission to use the codebase to create our
own variant. Gathering some of my most trusted friends from DBS, we
put together DragonBall Infinity.
At first it went slow. I have never coded before in my life so I was
tweaking things here and there, like I believed should have happened
in DBS. Over time my skills improved more and more, and I began adding
more features. Transformations that only increase when you stay in
that form. Energy that drains when you use certain forms, some new
races, new skills, fixed a bunch of bugs from the original DBS code
and caused many many more of my own *slaps forehead*.
But the code aside. The environment is what's my most beloved aspect
of DBI. The players are oh so loving, and will do almost anything
asked of them for others and for me when I need help tracking down
bugs. With an influx of new players, the oldbies true colours have
shown. They immediately dropped what they were doing and gave them
pointers and led them on their way. It's this attitude of the
players, that makes DBI one of the most respectable DBZ mud's in the
community.
And let's not forget the secret O.D.A. project. It's the next step
in the future of DBI. Many new features are in the works, like a
greeting system, a more robust combat/ki system, advancements to the
transformation system, and even an indepth body system.
DBI might look like just another DBS clone, but if you were to come
inside and experience what DBI really is, you'll know it's the most
advanced DBS derivative, has a very respectable atmosphere, and has a
friendly staff as well as friendly players willing to give you all you
need to become part of this family.
I hope to see you there.
