Hello, my name is Garabaldi,
The MUD Connector tells us Wormhole MUD was launched in april 2006,
but that is not entirely true. The MUD already existed when I first
logged in in 1996.
The MUD has always been a relaxed place, with lots of humor and a
science of its own. If you've always wanted to bash Captain Picard
over the head, wondered what it would be like to slice a lightsabre
through a Borg drone or wondered if the Jem'Hadar drug addiction was
really all that bad, Wormhole is the place to be.
Most of the times there are helpful people around to show you the way
things work on the MUD, for those that have never tried a sci-fi MUD
or even never tried MUD at all.
The Wormhole MUD has been away for a few years, because we lost much
of our playerbase when a restyling of the MUD was undertaken. On top
of that Wormhole lost its server and had to find a new one. All things
together it ended up being lost for a while.
The fact that after a couple of years absence a player-demanded
initiative has found half the old immortals and many of the die-hard
players prepared to give it another go and even pay for a commercial
server space, shows that Wormhole is a very great place to be.
All we need now is more players! So come and try it sometime. There
is a great selection of races and classes to choose, each with their
own special tricks of the trade. The original MUD-code has been
altered, modified and many new things have been added, but still with
the easy-to-use command interface of the original code. All you have
to learn is a bit the slang of a sci-fi, rather than fantasy type of
MUD.
And if you stick around, you may see more new features coming up in
the future. The MUD has reopened only one week ago and already work is
in progress to enhance, advance and improve the MUD. New zones under
construction, new features being edited. It's great. And if you're
good, grandpa will tell you a story...
