While I am an old gamer, coder and builder, I arrived at DE (formerly
DS) with the intent of escaping the Imm/Imp/Admin strains. After
fumbling my first levels, a Mentor appeared and asked, 'New here?' I
nodded my reply. Within a few minutes, this fellow not only had me set
straight but supplied me with a few coins, food, a light, showed me a
Map and some odds & ends in equipment. Following sound advice, I no
longer struggled to adapt but found most all the players & Imms, not
just Mentors, to be extremely helpful.
Given a few months playing off and on, learning the whole while from
experienced players and Imms, I now waste most my free time at work
playing this game.
Expect to find friendly players, thoughtful Mentors, imaginative Imms
and large, unique regions. Good equipment abounds and the availability
of static & area quests makes good use of your luck, smarts &
ingenuity.
Come give DE a try. Reality is awful enough. Why not go there and
finally be able to slay your daily dragons.
