Well! What can I say? Mozart was originally introduced to me by my
teacher, who has also played Mozart for a year or 2. When I first
started playing Mozart, it was also the first time I had ever played a
MUD. At first, I thought it was going to be boring compared to the new
3D games these days, but I was amazed by the stunning detail,
imagination and effort committed by the immortal staff for the players
to relax and enjoy.
My 'newbie' days were quite hard for me since I didn't have any
experience with MUDding, so I sat, and read the incredibly helpful
helpfile created which is really easy to understand. All I had to
type was 'help', and it shows all the different categories of help,
including spells, skills, specializations, rules and gameplay tips. If
you don't want to sit and read the helpfile (apart from the rules
which you need to read), just ask a high level character to help you
out with something, to show you where the inn is, the donation room or
the town map is. The MUD is completely newbie friendly and a great
place to start MUDding.
Mozart's equipment system is fabulous. There are thousands of
different pieces of equipment, weapons, shields, boots, armory, rings,
gloves etc! It may take you a while to get the equipment that you wish
to acquire, because there are items suited to clerics, mages and other
spell-casters; and equipment suited to thieves, warriors, barbarians
and paladins or you could try out a multi-class challenge for
equipment, like a cleric/warrior or a barbarian/warrior which can turn
out to be quite powerful.
Mozart is the best MUD (and the only one) I have ever played, I'm
too scared to even check out other MUD's because this one is just
great, totally newbie friendly, a great place to relax and talk with
people, something to do, and most of all A GREAT MUD TO PLAY!!!
