About 2 years ago, one of my roleplaying buddies linked me to the TMC
site for 'Age of Legends: Tales of the Lance'. I had mudded before,
but I stunk at it, and it had been long before I had actually
started roleplaying constantly. At first, it was hard. I had to get
used to rent, the con system, and all that jazz. But this is not a
diss to this mud.
It is NOT newbie friendly. They don't advertise that though, so
I will not hold it against them. I have had many characters on
the mud, and have experimented with classes...roleplaying ideas,
etc. It is a lot of fun to play.
The characterbase can sometimes be a little small, and the imms are
sometimes a little irritable, but I digress. The RP is good, and
most of the people there are of very high skill level. My first
character, 'Aki' lasted quite a long time, and the only reason she
isn't still stealing stuff and selling it to other people is
because of a pwipe. I kept a character because of RP, but I wanted
to keep my rogue. It didn't matter, I'm a little better off, and
I've had plenty of successful characters, and I've had a lot of fun
in this mud.
Word of warning: Don't anger Chemosh. I'm sure you've heard that
before though. He's a good guy. :) PS: Guy who wrote mage reveiw:
Magic-Users are the WORST newbie class. Learn the mud with a ranger,
a fighter, or even a rogue. 2PS: Don't worry about roleplaying, it
becomes second nature eventually. :)
