IOM is currently on a drive to recruit new players.
Reward incentives have been offered to people who bring new
players to the MUD that play for a total of 100 hours or
more. Also, players have been encouraged to work the
mudconnect.com site to boost voting ranks. That should aid
in bringing some new players to the game, if current players
do it.
The current pbase average is 3 to 8. Sometimes it can
break 15, but is not a common occurence. Races and class
types can use quite a bit of work to balance them out. The
skill tree system of learning is very complicated for most
new players. I would suggest only experienced MUD'ers attempt
to learn this MUD, as it is not very newbie/trubie friendly.
The max level is 50. Elves and Cresnars are currently the best
of the races to select. PK is very restricted, and definitely
not encouraged (disregard claims that it is).
Roleplay is encouraged to a slight degree, but mostly
mortals are left to their own devices. IOM could use a good
storyline to inspire some activity, which is lacking at
present...That or maybe some good RPers to kick things along.
All in all, an average MUD in the mix. If you are up for the
challenge, give it a whirl.
