The focus of ROV is player killing and it is currently quite
abundant. People familiar to Emlen MUDs will feel at home here,
as the custom codebase is very similar to it. The server and
codebase are very stable and rarely crash.
Player killing occurs between the Good and Evil alignments, and you
can only see players that are on your side on the 'who' list. XP is
reasonable and not too difficult to come across. There's usually no
problem finding a group of 3-5 players to level with. Also, most
players are rather newbie friendly and willing to help them XP,
learn skills/spells, join guilds, etc.
Several classes to choose from including Assassin/Warrior,
Assassin/Thief, Barbarian, Battlemage, Druid, Healer, Paladin,
Sorcerer, and Vampire, each with its own unique skills/spells. There
is also a warpoint-based tier system (warpoints are earned through
player-killing) that unlocks more powerful skills/spells.
Worried about the hassels of rolling a character and hoping you get
a good roll? Well there's nothing to worry about since you will get
