The following review is the opinion of the review's author [Keir]

The Land of Drogon is a MUD based in the traditional, old-style world
of adventuring. Created in 1992, it has been running for over a decade
under the same devoted creator.
The game itself is quite simple, especially when compared to other
MUDs. There are no classes, guilds, races, etc. You just create a
character and get let loose into the world. From there it is up to
you to find some treasure (This can range from coffee-stained scraps
of paper to big, shiny gold things) and take it to the temple, before
offering it to the gods of the land, for which you will be rewarded
money in the form of pobblebeads (the local currency). If you collect
enough pobblebeads you will advance a level, and receive a task to
do before you can level again, and a cryptic clue to help you on your
way. Carry on in this way until you reach the highly-sought-after
level of Wizard (or Witch).
Even if you are new to the game and know more about quantum physics
than MUDding, there is no chance you could get lost for more than
half a minute. There is an extensive help system that covers almost
anything you can do in the game and everyone is very newbie-friendly,
often appearing to help you before you even ask. If you are an
experienced MUD user, however, you will still find the completely
original rooms and puzzles challenging.
Stealing and player killing is allowed, but becoming a PK can greatly
increase the difficulty of the game. Certainly an option for players
looking for even more of a challenge...
The Land of Drogon is far from overcrowded, you will more than likely
bump into the same people every now and again, but this adds to the
general feeling of friendliness around the place. This is so much
the case, in fact, that a large amount of players continue to use
Drogon just to talk to each other once they reach Wizard level (I've
been playing for almost two years, many others have been going for 10
or more!). All this means that The Land of Drogon is possibly the
most fun MUD to play in these entire listings. But why take my word
for it? See you there!
