Legends of Cosrin (as it is now named) is a well established fantasy
MUD with a long history. Started on AOL it was forced to move to
Freeloader, because of AOLs restructioning of it's online games area.
However, the servers at Freeloader were bad lag wise and crashed
often so OGC (the company behind Legends of Cosrin and other games)
decided to set up it's own server and this is where Legends of Cosrin
is now.
The world of LoC is huge and is constantly extended by the staff
in more or less monthly updates. It has plenty of monsters to fight
in many different areas ranging from sewers to mountains. You can
also solve one of the many quests that are available.
Upon login with OGC's own frontend, called wizard, you can choose
between eleven races and eight classes. The races consist of Human,
Elf, Half Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Halfling, Half Giant, Half Ogre,
Half Orc, Lizard Man and Sprite. The available classes are
Sorcerer, Wizard, Shaman, Fighter, Ranger, Beserker, Monk and Thief.
LoC has a wide variety of skills and spells to choose from which
tend to confuse new players at first. So i recommend newcomers
to spend a couple of minutes to study the help files and/or reading
one of the many available tutorials.
In LoC players organize in four main guilds the Mages Guild, Fighters
Guild, Monks Guild and the Rogues Guild depending on there class.
These Guilds offer advanced skills and spells for the raising
Legend to explore, Beside the guilds, players can join a clan
and/or a temple. Those two are for roleplaying purposes.
Overall, LoC is a great game with great players and a great staff.
I have played LoC for five years now and there are still new things
to discover thanks to the very active staff. There is plenty of room
for great roleplays and character development. So if you like fantasy
then give Legends of Cosrin a try, it is well worth the time.

Cosrin is one of the single best MUDs I have played. It's about the
ONLY one to keep my attention for longer than a few months. It's the
sister game of TERRIS, and uses the same engine, but in my opinion is
far more versatile creatively, intelligently, and entertainingly.
It's currently lacking in the huge playerbase it is accustomed to,
and there are so many windows of opportunity left unopened because of
it. Any adventurer and fanatical roleplayer would LOVE Cosrin, and
would find that it offers both a home away from home and an
environment of friendly, helpful players and staff. The other reviews
capture the difference between Cosrin and any other average run of the
mill ZMUD mud. You'll only find the difference between Legends of
Cosrin and other MUDs by going to the website and downloading the
wizard. It doesn't matter if you're 12 or 60...this is a game meant
for everyone.
