The following review is the opinion of the review's author [Jalon]
and in no way represents the opinions of this website or its staff.
I've been an experienced mudder for many years now. Recently
I ventured onto 'Asylum MUD.' Unfortunately, my experience was
mostly negative.
Upon entering the virtual world, I was immediately harassed
by an admin named Lothar for no apparent reason. He began chatting
obscene messages (Lothar chats 'don't you agree a steaming pile of
dog poo is cooler than you?'') at me and I (more or less) told him to
shut his mouth. Another admin told me to read 'policy summary' which
states "Don't be a jerk." I chuckled at my computer screen at the
realization that the admins don't follow their own lectures. I then
asked for an email address to contact a higher power about the
harassment, which was responded to by deleting my character and
banning me from the game.
It's a shame, since from what I read in the help and info
files, the game seemed to be interesting. Unfortunately, there
doesn't seem to be any policy on the game or control of player abuse.
I have no plans to return to the game and would recommend other
players avoid it as well.
