I have been with Age of Legends for 4 years now. Many,
many things have changed over that time span. Much of
it for the better. The code has been modified more so
than before, adding new skills to many of the classes,
as well as new commands and options in the mud itself.
The atmosphere has changed as well. Many things have
been added in the way of building, and the world keeps
expanding weekly. There's always something new to find
or explore, and interesting people to meet.
Being set in the Dragonlance world, and an RP enforced
mud, there are some things that new players must eventually
learn, but this is made easy by the now extensive help
files, as well as the muds website. Also, most of the
players and all of the immstaff are usually more than
happy to answer a new players questions.
The mud IS RP enforced, and the players use
their surroundings, classes, races, and backgrounds
as plot devices in order to create stories of sorts.
There is your regular H&S as well, mixed in.
In all the time I have been here, I have always
had fun. Most of the people I encounter are interesting,
and the stories that unfold are always unique and
rememberable. I watch the mud improving, especially
now (much development is being done) and it makes
me smile, because a great place is only getting better.
If you would like to play at a unique, RP enforced
mud you should give AoL a try. If you're a Dragonlance
fan, you should *definitely* give it a try. AoL is set
in pre-cataclysm times (ie, no draconians),
and has been painstakingly mapped out to adhere to
the dragonlance atlas maps. There are many areas of
Ansalon open, and more going in all the time.
Hope to see you there!
Oh yes... and if you see a devilishly charming Qualinesti rogue,
you'd better check your pockets one more time.... ;)

Hmm. I hate people from Ohio? We have immortals from Ohio....might
want to reconsider that. Also, the times I punish people are few
and far between, so may wish to, again, reconsider. The last time I
set a ban was probably 3 weeks ago and before that, 2 months. Both
for people logging in and immediately swearing at an imm and hassling
them. Not quite sure why you say I hate people from Ohio, like all
things on a mud, it likely became blown out of proportion or you are
someone reprimanded at one time or another and are only giving 1/2
the story.

An excellent review with a few valid points, but like most reviews on
this place, this one seems to only point out the PROS, and not the
CONS. So allow me to fill you in.
The owner of Age of Legends is very prejudiced toward a number of
things. It has been heard, and proven that he dislikes people who
are from Ohio. As well, the owner of the MUD is very irrational
at times and quite tempermental, which makes most of his decisions
very unethical.
However, if you're one of those people that don't happen to defy
stupidity in immortals, feel free to play here. You'll see a lot
of disturbing things go down, but you WILL have fun.
My only advice to anyone who plays is to stay away from the owner's
(Chemosh's) badside.
