This mud, in my opinion, is an experienced mudders delight. If your
fixated on chat based muds and out of character relations, stop
reading.
Genesis is one of the only muds that I have found to be strictly RP.
Not that it forces players to RP, but the game itself is totally based
around RP. For example, the health system is not based on HP, meaning
when you check your health, you dont get a number. Your health is
viewed as 'feeling very well' 'rather hurt' 'terribly hurt' etc.
There are no 'tells' or realm wide chats in Genesis, however there
are MANY ways to communicate with people. Theres a very interesting
mailing system and of course you can always hire a pigeon to carry
your message to someone.
The fact that Genesis has stricly themed lands, offers great stories
and RP experiences. You will NEVER find a smurf village in Genesis
and all lands (like Middle Earth and Krynn) follow their themes to
the book. In Middle Earth you can play as a Ranger or become an evil
Morgul Mage. However if you find yourself interested in Krynn you can
become a member of Her Majesties Dragon Armies or join the Knights of
Paladin!
There are plenty of lands to explore and many have great stories and
interesting themes behind them!
Genesis is by far one of the most challenging and interesting MUDs
I've ever played. I've played Genesis for years, yet I've not been to
every land, nor have I met everyone. In fact when I play I've probably
only met a fraction of the people and travelled a fraction of what
Genesis has to offer. Genesis' only real draw back is being a
beginner.
It's so realistic that trying to become a warrior in Genesis is hard!
It takes time and dedication and a bit of luck! However, sticking with
Genesis and becoming someone in the game is well worth it. There are
few games that I have found to rival it and for me, that says
something. So if you enjoy roleplaying and want to try something new,
come to Genesis!
