The following review is the opinion of the review's author [Smash]

Dragons' Star was the first online game that I ever played, and it
continues to be the only one that I play with any regularity at all.
The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, even familial, yet there is
room for the rivalries and friendly bickering that is often the
perfect stimulus for a great laugh.
One of the things that I appreciate most about Dragons' Star, even
though I am years from having need of it myself, is the fact that it
is so newbie friendly. Not only is there an EXTENSIVE training
school to help new players learn the rules and basic commands, but
many of the players are willing to take quite a lot of time out of
their own mudding to give newbies advice, directions - even equipment
at times!
Further, the spell/skill system is unique, as far as I have been able
to see. Instead of having classes such as 'Fighter' or 'Mage' or
what-have-you, Dragons' Star uses different races that each have
their best and worst spheres, as well as good and bad spheres, so
there is a much better chance of finding a particular race that
perfectly suits your preferred playing style.
Finally, it is practically impossible for a dedicated mudder to get
bored with Dragons' Star, as there is so much variety both in the
race system and the remorting system. Players are able to continue
to challenge themselves years after they have reached the maximum
game level, and with new areas always being implemented, there is
always something new to see.
