I've been a player on CA for about 6 years now, and every time I try
to quit I keep coming back. It's not a huge mud, but has very varied
zones, ranging from Beavis and Butthead to Doom, and everything in
between.
The player base is small, but very friendly and willing to
help out new players. There is always at least one implementor on,
often two or three at a time.
The basics of the mud are pretty easy to pick up with an excellent
newbie zone called boot camp to fill you in on the specifics of
this mud.
There is an automatic quest system, and occasional quests run by
immortals. Level based equipment means that you'll be able to kill
bigger and bigger things as time goes by.
PK is restricted to higher levels, and remorting is possible
(starting over with bonuse statistics/skills) which opens the door
for highlander and predator classes.
So come on out and try it, and tell em Fitz sent ya ;)

I've played this mud off and on, first joining the
playerbase back in the mid-90's. Back then I was impatient
and I found the rental system to be quite limiting. It
does urge the players to be active to maintain their
equipment, or else all is lost if they're idle for too
long.
While I was never a fan of rental systems, I've come to
find that it's only a minor aspect of the game.
There are tons of areas to explore, and you're free to
develop your character however you please.
However.. Like the mud's description in the listing, the
mud hasn't seemed to have been updated in 2 years. At
least, not cosmetically. I can't say for certain if there
have been any changes, but the place seems much the same
as it did, pre-Y2K. This isn't necessarily a bad thing,
but it can be a turn-off for those who enjoy an environment
that is thriving and always changing.
All in all, however, CyberASSAULT seems a good place to
immerse one's self in a futuristic sci-fi environment.

The coments posted by the anonymous player are mostly not true. There
are new areas going into this mud all the time now, and the rent
system is fixed with the awesome addition of lockers. The mud is still
very friendly and the immortals are very well disciplined. Although
there still isn't a huge playerbase, CyberASSAULT has the staying
power that will make you come back and back and back for more. If you
give this mud a week i guarentee you will never want to leave it. I
loe CA, and you will too.
