The Shadow Crusades is a Dark Ages chronicle set in the classic (some
might say "old") World of Darkness universe, using the Dark Ages: 
Vampire revised and Dark Ages: Inquisitor game systems. The year is 
1216 and Medieval England is split into innumerable fiefdoms, all of 
which vie desperately for increased control over territories, 
resources and peoples. Unholy puppeteers meanwhile tug the strings of
these noble houses, waging the real wars in the shadows, uncaring of
the mortal collateral damages caused by their oft violent 
politicking. The token control these petty Cainite barons have over 
Mithras mimics the shallow control the human barons - those visible 
to the public eye - have over their kine King, and now that he has 
been forced to sign the Magna Carta concerns that the monarchy will 
topple are rising to new peaks. As in all things, each layer of the
mortal world is but a mirror of the real events happening by night. 
If unseating the monarchy for a new King is a murmur through the 
mortal world, rebellion against Mithras is more than that among 
Cainites.
