Three years after the Death Star was destroyed in the
Yavin system, the Empire struck back dealing a
heavy blow to the Rebellion by destroying one of
their primary bases on Hoth.
With the rebel leadership scattered
and their fleet on the run in deep space,
the Galactic Empire has bought themselves
time to finish construction of their newest
secret weapon in the Endor system.

All is not lost for the rebellion though,
as support for the rebels grows by the
day amongst those who have felt the cold oppression
of the Empire as it tries to maintain order.
Will you join the insurgency and fight
for freedom, or fight to maintain order
and preserve the Galactic Empire?

Welcome to Star Wars: Insurgency. On SW:I, you become
part of the tapestry that is the original era
of Star Wars. You can pick your side -
The Galactic Empire, which controls
most of the galaxy, the Rebellion,
which has supporters everywhere
or just do it for the cold hard feel of credits.
Your destiny - and ultimately,
the fate of others, is in your own hands

Insurgency is a heavily modified SWR, with
thousands of changes compared to the
stock codebase.
Previously, the MUD was known as
Rogue Threat/Time of Darkness (2002-2006).

Below are some of the changes compared to stock
* Custom Space System - One complete universe
- Ship parts system
- Hull breach system - Better be wearing
a flight suit if you get into battle
- Navicomp
- Hidden star systems
- Much much more

* Faction Points for the Rebels/Empire
- More renown as a rebel / imperial -
Mobs will act different towards you

* Slicer class

* Many planets

* Major code changes planned for future patches
