Starwars Imperial Awakening (started Jan 2002) is 9 years after Return Of The Jedi. 4 months ago, the Galactic Alliance took control of Coruscant however things are not going very well. With many Imperial pockets still trying to gain power, the Rebel fleet is spread throughout the Galaxy. In our gaming area, Captain Pellaeon still runs the ISD Chimaera and works to build the Imperial powerbase. The Galactic Alliance has its own fleet spread out to block the Imperials and our gaming area has the MC80 Independence. What is of concern at this moment is a strange event that no one has yet to explain. Eight months ago, the Defense Platform which once orbited Thyferra, vanished. Last month it had been learned that it was somehow relocated to the shipping lanes between Corellia and Tatooine. This event is so strange both the Empire and the Galactic Council want answers. The Empire hopes a new weapon can be obtained, while the Council is concerned that this could become a staging area for the Imperials, or they could discover how it was moved and use that as a weapon against the newly formed Galactic Alliance. Meanwhile, the Defence Platform has become an Independent haven and by the time the Imperials and Rebels learned of its location, the platform had been taken over by the Hutts, controlled by none other then Durga through one of his lieutenants. This has resulted in gambling, sex, drugs, spices, and other trades of preference to the Hutt being the main on-goings of the platform. With the location being found out, both the Imperials and the Rebels rushed to the Platform, arriving too close in time to each other to attack and take over the platform. Now all three sides sit in a very tense situation. SWIA is in a state of re-opening after 5 years of inactivity, so there are many FC's available along with great potential for independent characters.
