Are you an old-school mudder? One for whom Midgaard feel like a second home? Quick…what’s the path from temple square to the Assassin’s Guild? Your fingers never forget these things. Fondly rembember the thrill of killing trees? Do you ever sometimes feel that newer muds have become so hugely feature-rich and complex that all the math and tactics take all the fun out of the pure hack-n-slash? That, in retrospect, four classes and a handful of skills and spells were plenty to have a good time? Or are you brand-new to mudding? Want to cut your teeth on something simple and straightforward, not having to read a textbook just to get into the game and see if it’s for you? Or do you play a modern Mud, but have always been curious about that text about something called “Gamma” at the login prompt and those strange, Scandinavian-sounding names? Wonder what life was like back at the damn of mudding time? If any of these ideas intrigue you, then you shoud definitely try FuskerMUD! FuskerMUD is one of the oldest Dikus still in existence. And it’s about as close as you’ll come these days to the original gamma experience. That doesn’t mean here aren’t any enhancements, of course. In fact, the code is highly reworked. But always, the philosophy has been to keep as close as possible to the classic gameplay. Warrior, Thief, Cleric, Wizard. That’s all you get to start with…though once you max out these, there’s an Avatar class to keep progressing in. Yes, some areas are stock, but sometimes those old areas are, get this, actually FUN TO PLAY IN! And don’t worry, there’s plenty of original areas too.report listing problems | ||
