Many worlds were caught in a great cataclysm. Some were unescapable 
and  threatened to annihilate all life as it was known. That was when
the Espers arrived. The Convergence, as they call it, pulled 
fragments of these ill-fated worlds together as a final effort to 
preserve as much life as possible. These divine spirits combined their
efforts and became the architects for what is now known as the 
Converged World.

The Four Fiends.  Several wars.  The Lunar Cry. The Light of 
Judgment.  Sin.  All of these things, and more, have come to pass, 
and with each calamity the face of the world rewrites itself.  
Sometimes the changes are small - a town, a section of land - and 
other times, the entire world shifts.  The world is in an eternal 
state of flux where loved ones and enemies once thought dead may be 
found alive and well.

Nearly twelve years have passed since the world was born, and in that 
time, Four Convergences have occured.  But change is not driven by 
divine and infernal forces, alone.  The decisions of each and every 
soul may determine the fate of all those around you, for good or ill.

Final Fantasy MUX is a living, changing world where the actions of a 
dedicated player can change the face of the world's balance of power.
Major political and social changes can and do happen, and players are
encouraged to get active, take initiative, and become a part of 
history. Plots of every scale, both player and staff-driven, political
and social movements of unprecedented size, and a community both
dedicated and driven are at the core.
