The most ancient of elves speak of a time long ago when there were
no humans walking the lands we know of today. Nature and magic had
reached a balance in this time of legend until the day the elves call
'Esz'tinia', or The Great Storm. During The Great Storm an elf mage
called Alkyone found solace for many beneath the waves where an
heretofore unknown deity took pity on them and gave them a new life in
the deep sea. The Great Storm, which consisted not of rain and wind
but fire and lightning raged over the world for many years. The
mighty dwarves from the hills and mountains had taken safety along
with their gnome brethren in the deepest of their mines.

When The Great Storm subsided those long years later and the races
of the world crawled back onto the surface they found many changes.
Men had begun to arrive, having fled lands now buried beneath unknown
waters. What followed then were minor battles as man, elf, dwarf, and
gnome redrew the boundaries of old.

Then came the dragons. Tiny pockets of hell cruising through
the skies. Mostly humans roam the surface now, brought together
into small pockets of life far from any dragon's lair. The men
unite under one deity with warriors and templars serving as
defenders of the people. Others seek to restore balance with the
elements, others feed upon the chaos, and others create it as they
wield magics never before seen upon the world.
