you. They know that vampires tend to want you as a meal, not a
companion, and that the animal packs that roam the woods at night
would tear you apart if given the chance. They know enough to be
afraid.

Some know that it doesn't stop at night.

The too-pretty young artist who seems so alien yet so at home in the
urban landscape, the corporate power broker with the arcane sigils
tattooed beneath her blouse, the old lady in the lonely house with
too many cats where she casts her spells -- they too occupy this
place. And so do the ordinary people, the ones without a clue to the
supernatural world around them.

Some remember.

An ancient past bubbles up from from beneath the shadowy surface of
this gloaming world. Stories wander the streets. Wise children know
to avoid the lonely old house at the end of the lane, and sometimes
secret wishes come true, whether wonderful or terrible. Nightmares
and dreams alike stalk the hazy edges of mankind's consciousness, and
either can be dangerous. You see, the old world never really left.
It just got smarter.
