The wizards confronted Torban about his actions, but he
would not listen to their pleas. Torban soon disappeared
from view all together, to wait upon a time when he would
release the bonds he had placed on the mana sites.

That was more than 500 years ago. Since that time, the
races that had fled underground returned to the surface to
find a world changed beyond all recognition. And recently
people have discovered new ways to gain mana, and to work
their way around the blocks between worlds with word
controlled portals. A new age of magic is here.

The population of Delsance returned to the surface to find
their land all but destroyed by the furious wars. What had
once been a magnificent land, had been reduced to little
more than a desert. The only inhabitants of this area were
the nomadic Delsan, the only race that did not seek shelter
underground, with their caravans moving about scavenging
the desert slowly of its remaining resources. It is in this
desert that the great wizard Torban is rumoured to live, in
the last of the ancient mana towers, which is protected by
an oasis to confuse the wily explorers.

The people dispersed, to seek new homes. Most moved to an
area known as the Salyes Plains in the centre of the
continent, whilst others returned to the underground,
satisfied with their new home. These new kingdoms have
flourished in the five centuries since the mana was
blocked, and the way is open for bold young adventurers to
seek fame and glory on the new frontier...
