Ashavar's Legacy is a mud that is challenging and realistic while still being a lot of fun. Its focus is more on using your brain than pure hack and slash, player killing, or role-playing. There are puzzles built into the game and randomized quests available. Players can ask most humanoid mobiles questions about how to find stores, guildmasters, or puzzle hints. This mud uses a race-less and class-less system. The players choices of stats determines what spells and skills he or she can learn. Players can increase their spells or skills by using them, instead of spending practice sessions. Players can also learn skills like mining, wood working, and leather working so that they can forge their own equipment. They can find gems to give bonuses to forged items, runes to make their weapons cast spells during combat, and glyphs to give their shields protection from a spell. There are also many client-like features built right into the mud, for example aliases, autoactions, and some very advanced wimpy commands. Other unique features include specialized containers, a dress command that can calculate the best equipment in your inventory and wear it, and the ability to study a given room, then teleport to it later.
