Phoenix is a themed medieval/fantasy MUD. We do not strictly enforce
role-playing, but we do reward good RP and ask that player names,
familiar names, travel messages, titles, profiles, etc. be
appropriate for a medieval/fantasy environment. Player reviews etc
that are found inappropriate for this environment may be removed by
the Powers.

The object of the game is to explore the Land of Phoenix, kill
monsters, solve puzzles (quests) and have a lot of fun. As you
adventure through the realm you will accrue both experience points
and quest points. Experience points are gained through sacrificing
treasures to the gods by dropping items into the pits found at the
Temple of Paradise, the Village Church and various other locations.
Points are also gained for killing monsters. Traditional
playerkilling is not allowed except during tournaments or if both
players have entered into the combat arena. We also make
playerkilling available through a subclass system that allows players
to become vampires, seraphs, or werewolves. Quest points are gained
by solving quests.

You may play more than one character at a time as long as certain
conditions are met, check the multiplaying information file for
details.

Once you have acquired the requisite amount of experience and quest
points you are eligible to become a Novitiate Apprentice Wizard. At
this time you can choose to become an immortal, or to reincarnate as
mortal. If you choose immortality you may opt to reincarnate as a
mortal at a later time. In order to be eligible to take a wizquiz
and move beyond the apprentice wizard levels, you must achieve Adept
status (complete the game in all guilds and complete all quests at
some point in any incarnation). Once you are a Paragon Apprentice
Wizard, you may apply for a wizquiz with an ArchWizard or higher.
This test examines both your knowledge of the Land of Phoenix and
your familiarity with policy. Upon successful completion of your
wizquiz you are promoted to the rank of Adept Wizard.

If you can't find the answer to your question in any help or info
file, feel free to ask an immortal or upper level player.
Welcome to Phoenix, we're glad you're here. Enjoy!
