Dragonball Xtreme is definitely not your run-of-the-mill Dragon Ball MUD. For starters, your powerlevel (which in most Dragon Ball MUDs is gained per hit) isn't all that important except as a reflection of how much you've been training your stats and skills. In fact, it goes up only when you raise a skill or stat one point. And how does one raise them? Simple, you just use your skills while powered up to your max, fighting opponents that aren't too weak for you. At certain amounts of different stats and skills, you'll unlock new abilities automatically (except for a few which are gained through mobs). Skills here are not race-restricted, meaning that you could potentially learn every skill in the game (except for racial transformations). However, each race has a different gain rate for each of the stats, meaning some races will have an easier time in melee, others with ki, and some decent at both. Fighting is manual, meaning that you must enter in each attack (defenses are automatic), and there's a short wait between each action before you can enter in the next action. Some actions result in a longer cooldown, so if you're in a fight for your life, remember that! You won't be getting SSJ in a week either, as it takes a ton of training to get that far. There's also a working fusion dance (with interracial/intergender fusion possible), weapons/weapon skills, and a randomly generated zone that's different every reboot. Overall, this MUD is definitely worth your time if you like a high degree of challenge in terms of getting stronger. DBXtreme's a very underrated MUD that deserves to have an influx of players, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to all those who'd like to try something unique with their Dragon Ball MUDding.
