TMC Community,

Recently, our MUD has been gaining more and more players during our peak play time. We usually have about 8-10 on at peak times enjoying our immerse world. All of the players/developers on our MUD are extremely friendly to any and all guests that join our MUD to take a look around.

We currently have 10,000 rooms, 12 races, 24 guilds, and certain professions that are race/guild/stat dependent upon how you build your own character(it is a medeival/fantasy based theme). Our developer staff led by Viper are all extremely dedicated to our mud and have been around for 4-5 years each coding/implementing new and fun things to our game. If you are looking for a clean, BALANCED, PK-optional, and an extremely helpful/friendly community to join, PowerMud is a great fit for you. Stop by anytime in the near future, and give it a try. My in-game name is Theman, and you can contact me for any/all reasons when you login. Thanks for taking the time to read about the best LPmud I have been apart of in my 10+ years of MUDding experience :

Powermud rocks! I've played it as rabid for so long I have lost track. I can't imagine playing anywhere else. I am also a developer for powermud, my developer is Apex. Come see us.

I'm also one of the developers on PowerMud, and I have tried a few other MUDs, but this is the only one that I feel at home in. I'm doing my best to make PowerMud an interesting place to play and hang out in. Hopefully you'll come check it out! I'm proud to work with everyone on PM, and we will do our best to keep it a fun place to play! If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them if I can (my in-game name is Blink).

Just an observation. When a person posts a promotion fora MUD and then asks every other staff member to post as a reply to keep the topic bumped it makes you look desperate, not as if you have more players that want to keep the topic bumped. Now what does help is when I've seen in the past you have one admin post a promotion and then other players or ex-players chime in with things they like about the MUD, even if those players were asked to chime in it looks less desperate than when an admin does it, because you always know for the most part that the plarer actually enjoys the MUD whereas the admin is just aiming to gain publicity.

Drizzt,
I did not arbitrarily ask the devs to post on here, I asked them because they are the most knowledgable and dedicated members of the mud (for the most part). And we would also like any new players to field questions to these individuals, versus the players.

It is the developers responsibility to get people on this mud, not the players. I don't know how long your account has been activated here, but back when I registered here 5+ years ago it was very easy, and could use any e-mail you wanted. Nowadays, TMC has changed, and requires a "personal" e-mail address.

Personally, I would not expect any of our players to sign-up and try to promote our mud, and go through the hassle of signing up here and potentially be solicited by TMC, should this website choose to follow that route.

Furthermore, I would assume that none of our players would be on this site in the first place to comment/see the promotion...as that would mean they are looking for a new MUD and or the experience from PowerMud is not what they had hoped it would be.

PowerMud has had a great response from this promotion over the last week, and we have gained several new players that have already fell in love with the PowerMud community/experience. I challenge each and every one of you LP'ers and everyone else who may be interested in a LP based MUD to come check out our place! Thanks in advance, Theman

whit123,

I am not sure how to word this response as I am not intending to flame you, so I will apologize in advance if this sounds a little harsh.

It looks like your developers/staff went through the hassle of signing up here to keep your topic bumped which in turn made your advert look desperate. On a side note, I think it would have been nicer (as a potential player) to see from the players (reviews) why they thought that PowerMud was "the best LP MUD" rather than a bunch of nicely timed bumps from members of staff whose job is to bring more people on to the MUD by whatever means necessary.

Good luck with the MUD and have a great/bumpy New Year!

If your players can't be bothered to do something so easy I'd personally say they aren't dedicated, and a MUD without dedicated players makes me wonder exactly how it can be the BEST MUD of its codebase. I personally have posted promotions for the MUD I play the most, and often reply to the promotions posted by the Admin of said MUD. Also what do you mean TMC is a pain to sign up? You put in a username, a password, and your email, it sends you an email you confirm it, done. That takes 45 seconds maximum. Less time than it took me to write out this post in fact, so if this is something none of your players are willing to do i really must wonder if you have any devpted players.

Drizzt,

The section you have quoted me for is taken out of context with respect to the fact that people require a -personal- email address to sign up. Some people just don't have them, and or do not want TMC to have their -personal- email accessible to any spam/newsletters/etc. which is why I would not expect our players to bump our promotions. Please re-read my last response to your flame, so you can make educated posts in the future, thanks.

I have read lots of your comments in the past, and your responses consistently contain negative implications about the 'said' MUD. I wasn't expecting any less from you, regarding PowerMud's promotion. However, given the state of the MUD community at this time, any publicity is good publicity. Looking forward to seeing any of you players that are interested in a great MUD experience!

PS - Thanks for the comment Templeton, and the constructive criticism, I'll keep it in mind for the future. Also, I'll take this opportunity to direct anyone who is looking for a plyers perspective to visit our TMC Mud Reviews!

Unless you start a response like this (or in similiar fashion):
"I am not sure how to word this response as I am not intending to flame you,
so I will apologize in advance if this sounds a little harsh."

Everybody seems to think you're out to flame. That being said from a player
point of view I'm always more interested in what a player has to say about a
place than an immortal. (Usually what 5 players have to say since among 5
reviews you'll generally find 2 good ones, hopefully one negative and one
positive),

Wow...that was a flame? That was a tip for future promotions, I've never logged on your MUD, there's no reason I'd flame it. Secondly as to people not wanting spam...when was the last time you got spam from TMC? I never have...(sure I get a daily email from TMC, but that's ONLY because I'm a member of its mailing list). Trust me, I certainly know how to flame a MUD...that certainly wasn't it. Slapbass84...that was a flame war...this was a suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestions Drizzt.

And for you or anyone else that is interested of a players view make sure to use the search on the left side of the page and type in 'powermud' from there, click on our 'TMC Player Reviews' hyperlink. Apparently it was a poor assumption of mine to assume that some people couldn't find player reviews, perhaps "TMC Player Reviews" is a bit ambigious. Anyways, thanks for all the people checking out our site and MUD! Our traffic is way up on both, and have had a great response with new players! Hope to see you in the world of PowerMud very very soon. -Theman
