Well this is definitely my first post in the forums so I wholeheartedly expect to be torn to shreds by the ravenous wolves that are, the community. To keep this nice and short I've been mudding for 7 years and building areas for 5 of them on SMAUG and SWR codebases primarily branching out every once in a while. Due to a work schedule change I now have the time available to me to support a lifestyle of over excessive building. Oh no! Wait! Learn is in the subject of this message. To be honest I have been reading up on C++ and the likes and am trying to get into coding. Unfortunately I'm finding it incredibly difficult and was hoping to find a tutor in this arrangement where I can learn a few basics and have a place to start out from. I am quite imaginative and am able to bring quite a bit of new style to any mud and hopefully with some understanding of code would be able to help with the implementation of new designs or ideas. Oh well so much for nice and short. Hope to see some replies! Please leave your Port# and so such!

That there is the only reason for anyone to flame your post. You're not an African posting on a KKK-orientated forum, we really don't just randomly bash every new poster for the fun of it.

Looked short to me, if that was long what the hell is short? 3 words?

You may have mistaken TMC for WORA. This place is
actually pretty friendly, all things considered, and
folks who get out of line for no reason are generally
subject to firm correction.

Think of TMC as the Dark Tree of Dagobah. What is
inside it is what you brought with you.

Good luck in your hunt.

Don't let them fool you OP, they are cruel and full of
hate. You escaped the wrath of TMC only by mentioning it in
your post.

Ps. THAT was short.

Hey, I'd love to hire you (Well, recruit) you to mine!
My MUD is Dungeon Valley (Name subject to change) and so far it has a solid playerbase of 3.. i think. But once the world and systems are put together, the whole thing could turn out promising. The code base is in C++, but it has much easier scripting in Python (probably the easiest language there is to learn), so building, etc. will be easy. The whole thing is still deep in development... but the game design and story is fairly good so far.
And you can build too; my world is coming along... just it's planned to be big, and it takes time to put all the stuff together. And new ideas are welcome and wanted.

Either way, check out the info, and stop by and feel free to make an account: dungeonvalley.game-host.org:6255. And, I'll be glad to try to help you learn C++ - I'm also in a CS class learning it, so I can give you some pointers.

And if you decide it doesn't look good after logging on, just lemme know so I don't need to bother saving your pfile. :)

(oh, and you don't need to worry about short ;)
