I'm working on creating a MUD (after being an imm/Guildleader on ROM 2.4 b6) using QuickMUD. I'm wanting to use a battle engine that will vary battle based upon the homeworld you are from. I'm aware this will take potentially heavy modding. This concept will tie in my idea for RP and PK. The basic theme will be warring worlds with influences from Wheel of Time, LotR, Warcraft/Starcraft, and other fantasy themes (as well as religions). I'm interested in ideas and help on why QuickMUD will not consistently startup for me. So I'm open to suggestions as to what might be a better codebase for my idea or how to get things working much more smoothly. The errors QuickMUD are generating are that the IP address (or socket?) is already bound (I don't have the log in front of me currently to give the exact syntax). I'm also looking for staff (coders and builders) but I'll give more details in another post once I know what codebase I'm using concretely. Thanks for the help. Jim

I'm using the QMgrant.tar.gz from mudmagic as my current codebase. I looked at a few other posts and saw that this would be useful info.
