Thanks goes out to anyone who has taken the time to read this message.

I have recently gotten back into mudding and have come across a major issue. I am connecting on a college campus that runs a very high speed internet connection and I doubt that this holds me back from connecting, but if it does, i'll accept ways to get around this aswell. Alright this is the problem.

I can connect through TELNET fine. I can go with no lag, and play all day but I have the 30 dollar version of zmud i'd like to use and it seems I lag constantly through zmud. Is there any way I can connect without the lag? I'm a mage on my game with low health and I cannot lag at all or I die, please ANYONE post, ANYTHING will help me, I don't know anything, but I cannnnnnooooott use Telnet, I hate Telnet...Thanks alot...Post please

If I understand you correctly, when you use zmud,
you lag. When you use a different client, you don't lag.

Sounds, then, like a zmud problem.

If you paid money for zmud, this presumably entitles you to
some sort of support. At a minimum you can ask
questions on their forums, and probably search
them as well.

Given that the symptom you describe is "lag", that's
pretty darn vague, and seems like the sort of thing
best addressed by the existing support structures
for your software.

Switch to Putty, it's free, and doesn't lag. :)

Thanks for the feedback but it's basically whenever I use ANY GUI client. Gmud, MudMaster, AL Client, Zmud...Any of them, besides Telnet..Any new suggestions?

That doesn't really make any sense, most clients handle it the same way as telnet does.

Maybe there is a firewall that blocks programs from making a connection, and so it half works thus ends up causing lag.

I've tried disabling my firewalls, even uninstalling them briefly. Even windows firewall!!!! I don't know what to do!

My only other thought would be that it's the computer. Bad/old/ugly hard drive? Set your virus scanner to ignore the zmud files. I have a copy of zmud that I run off a flash drive and I know I experience some hefty lag at times when it's reading/writing to the drive. Hope that helps.

THanks for the help however...It's a new machine, very good one, actually..I play many graphical games fine..World of warcraft, guild wars...all of em...heh, It's just any GUI based connection to the thing!!! Even with NOOOOOO umm firewall or antivirus

Try using zMUD support anyways. See what they say.
