I recommend libagar.org for a GUI environment to create graphical MUD clients.

Is there a license we have to agree to before, after the fact, or posthumously, if we use your recommendation?

He's banned from mudbytes and his threads on TMS got locked.

Just ignore him and he'll scroll off again.

While this thread is still the top on the front page...

Locke: Just so you are aware, every time you post on this site you're bringing further attention to the slew of licensing issues with your codebase. For example, Cratylus' comment led me (and I'm sure others) to check the locked threads on TMS -- wherein you are apparently now trying to release NiMUD under the GPL... (Wow!)

That isn't helping your image. If you do post again, I'd highly suggest waiting at least a couple months until the issue has "blown over".

Of course... correcting your license so you're not stealing other peoples' work would be better, but I know you won't do that.

Best of Luck,
-Jess

Sorry to help(1). Get back to your pointless(2) bickering(3), then..(4)

1: You're not helping. No one here likes you and not one of us in this particular community is interested in anything you have to offer. The fact that you have not realized this by this point only shows both your immaturity and your basic lack of intellect.

2: The replies to your original post are not pointless. They are making valid observations that were not meant for you, for the most part, but rather for any new visitor who stumbles across your new postings and believes them to be genuine.

3: It's not bickering. Bickering means to engage in a petty, bad-tempered quarrel. Nothing posted before this post was petty, save perhaps for the one I am directly replying to. Once again, they made valid observations. Granted they were couched in amusing language, nevertheless they are still valid. No one wants to use software with license changes that are clearly unethical*.

4: What's with the extra period? Clearly, you need to study your English Grammar a bit more before you come play with the big boys, 'kay, Herbie?

*I realize you may have a hard time understanding terms like "unethical", so I have included the following for your benefit:
Unethical: Not conforming to approved standards of social or professional behavior.

Why don't you save yourself some grief and just go away?
Never use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.

We're not interested in that either. Or, at the very least, I'm not.

You shouldn't generalize from one example.

But then again, everybody generalizes from one example. Or at least, I do.

Nothing posted before this post was petty...

I'm pretty sure I was being petty, at least in this thread. :)

Not me, I removed it quite some time ago as a Bad Thing (TM), preferring an offline editor in Java that I wrote myself.

Just so you know, it's "English grammar", not "English Grammar"; such as you would say "English language" and not "English Language".

Just so you know, it's "just as you would say" and not "such as you would say".

But really, have none of us got anything better to do than quibble over grammatical and semantic errors? (And yes, I realise that both this sentence and its immediate predecessor begin with a conjunction; I do not particularly care.)
Please do not feed the troll.

Yes, you're right (it's an idiom, but I did use it incorrectly). Thanks.

It's a personal Achilles' heel of mine to want to correct someone's English when they are correcting someone else's English while making errors of their own at the same time, and were it not for that I would not have posted in this thread at all (of course, if I hadn't chanced upon reading Fire's post I wouldn't have posted anyways). After all, I love using correct English and I would want others to do the same for me (as you have). It's not a matter of argument or quibble for me but that of a service to others, you see. I can't speak for others in that regard, though.

It's a great library for developing graphical applications, like MUD clients.
