Looking to supplement my income I figured to give the MUD advertisement business a try. I've been developing TinTin++ (a powerful multi-platform MUD client) since 2004, and popularity has steadily increased with currently 1400 to 1800 downloads a month, with the user base being roughly comprised of 40% Windows, 40% Linux, and 20% Mac OS X users.

Given TinTin++ is a console client I was thinking that the best way to promote MUDs would be to randomly pick a MUD from the list of advertisers and display a brief description of the MUD (less than 9 lines wrapped at 80 columns) on tintin's opening screen, with the connection info displayed at the bottom. The price for the advertisement would be $100 for a 12 month period.

Email me at mudclient@gmail.com if interested, and if there are enough advertisers I'll get back to you in a month or so.

I'll be out of town for the next couple of days, but am planning to release an advertisement enabled tintin++ before the 31st. For anyone who's interested I need the following information, preferably before the 24th.

1) Name of the mud
2) Website url, if you want it included.
3) An 8 line description (can be shorter), wrapped at 80 columns.
4) Address and port
5) $100 - preferably through paypall (We'll settle the details through email.)

Email me at mudclient@gmail.com if interested.

No offense, but I've never even heard of TinTin and I've been around a few heavily PK oriented Muds for a while....

$100? No offense, but I don't see your facts adding up.

As many Linux users as Windows users? That's a hard fact to sell.

TINTIN is one of the oldest (and at one time best known) mud clients in existence. It was first released in April 1992, and has had a huge impact on the history of mudding, providing the basis for other clients such as Zmud, yTin, Lyntin, Pueblo, WinTin95, and GGMud.

Oh yeah, tintin was my main client when I was mudding from my school's Linux box...

I remember Tintin. Gosh, I thought I was in heaven having tintin instead of having to use straight telnet over 1200baud.

Better than the ability to use aliases, I was overjoyed that I didn't have to spend half my time counting ^Hs due to my bad typing. This was way back in oh, fall of '93 or spring '94.

Far from, if a commercial mud gains one paying player they get their money's worth.

As many Linux users as Windows users? That's a hard fact to sell.

It's a Linux client with a windows port, I wouldn't be surprised if the percentage of Linux users is higher than that, but my website statics show 48% Windows, 34% Linux, and 17% Macintosh visitors for the past 3 months.
