The Realm of Utopian Dreams is a unique online game, a MUD, in which real people around the world gather to engage in epic pretend, make-believe battles, sorcery, medieval politics, and a variety of social interactions. Our mission is simple. The members of the Immortal Council of this Realm have designed this mud to be a happy medium between role-play (RP), "Hack n' Slash", and Talker muds.

Role-play is strongly encouraged in this Realm, but not absolutely required. As such, some choices in our design of this MUD are derived from RP MUD configurations. For example, titles, character descriptions, and the ability to player-kill are integral to this part of the MUD. Other facets of the Realm are derived from a need for interaction between player-characters on the MUD. These include the many channels, committees, the court system, and an openness to listen to and to consider player input on how to make the atmosphere more friendly and the game more enjoyable and challenging. We hope that you enjoy this world and take advantage of its unique opportunities, but above all role-play well and have fun.
