It's the unexplainable reason behind a multitude of natural disasters.
It's the spark that makes the loyal husband go rampage and turn
his anger on his wife and kids.
It's the system-crash that causes the power to go out,
or the hurricane that floods the suburbs.
It's chaos, pure and simple,
and its influence is noticeable everywhere to those in the know...
In traditional Marvel history, it's well known that Jean Grey and
Rachel Summers are the ones that received the Phoenix Force.
However, this was a complete accident.
Flame of Darkness focuses on the world of Marvel from the series
X-Men: Evolution with influences from the X-Men movies,
forming a well-rounded RolePlay experience.
Instead of having Jean Grey obtain the Phoenix Force,
it went to its rightful heir, Feron.
But during the communal process, something went wrong
and a shard of the Force was lost into the Earth.
Years later, a construction crew uncovered it and unleashed it
back into the world,
tainted by the dark magic that tried to capture it years earlier.
Meanwhile, the mutant phenomenon continues to grow,
its secret getting more and more
difficult to keep from the ever watching public eye.
Those reaching the age that their powers manifest
are at a point where they realise that they aren't alone,
but still aren't sure where to turn.
Aware of the threats against this ever-growing facet of mankind,
Xavier put together a core group of his most talented students
called the X-Men.
They are protectors of normal humans and mutants alike,
trained to use their fantastic abilities for the greater good.
But even though their goals are to keep humanity
from suffering at the hand of evil and chaos,
they struggle just like everyone else.
They know that as much as they want to,
they cant risk exposing their status as a mutant to the public.
This, and the fact that they all have mid-terms to study
for can be quite a weight on any teenagers shoulders.
