Actually, can we definitely not use captcha? It's a proper pain in the ass for screen readers. There are ways around it, but they are not fun. Nor are the audio challenges.

I assume the captcha was removed because bots were able to bot bypass it?

I just got this mail from Icculus:

"Hey Guys,

Just wanted to let you know that I changed the questions for registration.
I made them much easier so hopefully people no longer have a problem
getting onto the site!

-Andy"

Hopefully this will help! :)

One of the questions now is "What is the greatest mud of all time?"  I answered "4D" and it said I was wrong.  Huh?

What does the H stand for in MUSH it asks. I don't even know that without googling it because I really dislike MUSHes and have no interest in learning about them. The questions really need to be simple questions that aren't related to MUD information that a MUD newbie will not know. Knowing Tom whatever his last name is, is rather silly to expect a MUD newbie to know or even research. Math equations I'm all for but silly questions that actually require googling and learning about something you may not care about is not the way to go about. Newbie signs up to vote for a non-Diku MUD, why would they care or know about anything DIKU involved? Plus the DIKU creators don't give a flying squirrel about the MUD community, so why should we be reminded that they created some abandonware?

Not too hard, just too much work.  It's like having the remote control on the table across the room, easier to sit there and watch the boring channel than get up and grab the remote.

Thank goodness people who are still into text gaming don't fit any old stereotypes, huh?

It is a bit strange and does create a selection bias in who votes. Not sure what a better solution would be though.

It took me a minute to look up the answers on Wikipedia. Let's not pretend that this is a high barrier to entry.
